Oh, Jacob. BELIEVE me, I know. Last year was hell. I had NOTHING! *drama queen sob* No liscense, no college, no money (hey, that's still true!). Just a bitter, lonely man who yelled at me if I asked for a dollar. Yeah...divorced dads are fun.

Hang in there, buddy. Your time'll come. And don't forget, it's also the time of all-nighters because you have four papers due in the morning! Hehe.

If I get accepted into a BFA musical theatre program(PRAY TO GOD) than that will not be the case. One science class, one math class, and a whole lot of theatre classes.

Heh. I don't know what college you're going to, but MOST of my papers are for Performing Arts 101. Not to mention all those really really fun hours of stage-crewing for visiting shows...it was fun when "Squeeze Box" came (anyone seen it off-Bway? fabulous) because I got to ASM, but for the rest it was total drudge work. Me and all my theater-junkie friends (who had NO idea what they were getting into...very funny to see them realize that it's WORK!) did a lot of sweeping, mopping, ushering, and 'test, test, one two three!' -ing.

But I just got bumped up from Understudy to Cast Member in the Spring production. BOOyah, girl with mono!

Gay guys make fantastic companions (dates) for the theatre. You can go, really enjoy and talk about the show, go out afterwards for drinks and admire/lust after the same cute guys that pass your table, go home and not have to worry about them jumping your bones. In other words - they're great GIRL FRIENDS who happen to look like they could stop a mugger, thus giving you that extra touch of protection on the way home.

Every girl should have one.

Thank you ME - that's sweet. Actually stopping a mugger is not at all required. Just looking like you could is usually enough to keep them away.

Anyway, I'm a little old grey-haired granny lady living in DC. (Well, the roots are grey.) I go to NY as often as my pension allows - which isn't at all often enough. I've now reached that point in my life where I have to resort to scowling a lot and carrying a horseshoe in my purse. Swing that sucker at a mugger's head and they'll definitely feel it. (I suddenly got a picture of myself as Ruth Buzzi in "Laugh In". OY VEY!)

Where were you 20 years ago?
