Considering the situation he inherited, plus the obstacles from Congress and SCOTUS, he's done a remarkable job. History will judge him well. Let's remember that the US economy was on the brink of collapse, markets crumbling, unemployment soaring, two wars, a Congress whose entire agenda consists of ensuring that nothing gets done. When history looks back, they'll see a president who was moderate, despite protestations from the opposition. They'll see moderate solutions, and wonder why the GOP refused to go along with ideas that had their roots in conservatism.

Yes I do Goth. It bugs them no end that they can say what they want and it does not affect me as I do not see it.
Jordan is an strange case. A few years ago he was my good buddy after my wife translated a French phrase for him. Than he turned on me like a rabid dog. I should have known.

Ladies and gentlemen, on this celebration of Independence Day, can we just be thankful that we live in a democracy at all? And, yes - I do think this is the best nation on earth. It is composed of human beings who do stupid things, but we were established by great men with dreams and ideals that no civilization before them had dared to dream. God bless them and God bless the United States.

I always thought the "best nation on earth" contest was a little silly and pointless. And indicators show we're not the "best" at much except military spending and incarceration . If we ignore those things and keep thinking we are somehow inherently "THE BEST" we'll never get better.
