he might not be considered such a good president. I heard some poll on the news that said he was voted the worst president since the early 1800's. I'm not wild about him as president myself.

I've seen plenty of hatred for Obama, but I've never seen "for being a good president" as the reason.
Jane, I would imagine anyone voting in that poll must have absolutely no information on any president but Obama.

I'd have to agree with Phyllis in questioning whether anyone hates him "FOR" being a good president.
As to why his approval ratings are low despite--arguably--being a good president? Off the top of my head and in no particular order:
Insanely unrealistic expectations that were never going to be met, leading to feelings of dis-satisfaction and disappointment;
A sluggish economic recovery;
The constant drum-beat of negativity from the conservative media;
His cool and cerebral demeanor;
A perceived lack of consistency/decisiveness at critical points in world affairs--the famous "red line" re: Syria;
ETA--the nasty, hard-core racists hate him for being non-white. THEY likely would hate him MORE for being a good President, as that f**ks with their world-view.

I don't hate him. But I don't think he's a good President. His education policies have been a nightmare for public ed. We haven't seen this level of segregation in schools since Jim Crow.

I don't "hate" him but I have no respect for a lawyer who taught constitutional law and seems to think that he has the right to do what Congress won't, no matter what the reason. Laws are passed by Congress, not by an executive with a pen and a phone. I am a Democrat but first and foremost I am a person who respects the wisdom of the Founding Fathers. They didn't think that King George (who had a quill and no phone) could single-handedly determine what was right for the people. This is a democracy and no one person can represent the best interests of the people, even with the best of intentions.

The next time you're talking with Obama, ask him to listen in on Angela Merkel's phone again and see what she thinks of him.

You're really stuck on that aren't you Goth? Are we just going to ignore that Germany spied on the US too? Or that countries do it all the damn time? I'm not saying it's right, but you seem so stuck on Obama doing it that you ignore that it's a worldwide issue. Not an Obama issue.
