...and when you go home and line up everything you bought on the couch to remove tags, you notice that ALL the shirts you bought were similar?

In my case, mostly all of the shirts I bought were vertical stripes. It was hilarious! I was totally oblivious to it when in the store, but when I got home there were seven shirts with stripes.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I do the exact same thing, Elphaba.

I would probably have ended up buying the multiple shirts that are similar in style and not even really worried about it. Vertical strips are "in" right now, so it makes sense that you'd get a lot of them - they are being featured most everywhere.

what's funny is one t-shirt I bought in 1982...I only bought the blue, not the red, and I am STILL made at myself, heh heh.....
bought three shirts last week for the trip....stripes, ornage-white-black, one with blues, and one with chartreuse-white-and black......

I can one up that, Elphaba.

Since I am in the process of losing weight, I found a shirt that I really liked and bought it in two different SIZES. re: You ever go clothes shopping....

Sometimes if I see a shirt or pair of pants I like and it's on sale at one of those normally high-priced stores (like Abercrombie, Aeropostale -not as pricey but still- American Eagle) I buy the same style but in different color. I told that to someone before, and he kinda laughed at the idea and mentioned that means you don't have any style. Well, excuse me for buying duplicates in a different color. Does anyone else do this?

I am bad about buying things in multiple colors. I found a sweater this winter that I loved. It was comfy, soft and very flattering. I ended up buying it in six colors. I work with kids that throw food, tear at your clothes and some things that you just wouldn't believe. I am not that concerned with people thinking that I have no style. I have very different clothes for weekend wear.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

I'll do it with basics. Last summer I bought about 9 of the same tank top in different colors and I own somewhere near 10 pairs of Old Navy flip flops.

Am I cut out to spend my time this way?

I have doubles of a lot of tops I like, usually in a different color (half of my t-shirts are the same shirt from Urban or American Apparel in different colors and with different things on them), but on occasion I just see the top that I like on sale, and I just get it again.

All my jeans are the same wash though, or virutally the same color. I don't even do it intentionally, but I somehow pick out a really similar wash...even though they are all from different brands...I do have two pairs of the same jeans that look good on me.

When in doubt, buy it. You'll regret it if you don't- especially if it's on sale.

If you decide you don't want it, either return it or give it as a gift (as mean as that sounds.)
