"In short: Sanders numbers are artificially high because he is largely unknown."
The only thing I'll add to that is boldface for added emphasis.
In short: Sanders numbers are artificially high because he is largely unknown!!!
I was just listening to Oranges and Lemons while reading this page.
What a coincidence.
Kasich's numbers are probably also artificially high due to his relatively low profile, plus he also looks like the only adult on the GOP debate stage.
At this point the most meaningful national polls are Trump versus Clinton. Both are very well known to the majority of the electorate.
I still can't get over the full on penis envy on the GOP debate stage in Detroit last night. The Donald reassured the nation that he's holding the biggest phallus in the palace.
That will no longer be true when he is debating HRC.

As far as I understand, Hillary is not a convicted criminal.
Oh, come now Aunt Clara. You can do better than that. How about "As far as I understand, Hillary is not a cannibal"?

PS That's not what "penis envy" is.
As far as I understand, Hillary is not a convicted criminal. However, Hillary is currently involved in an FBI investigation (with recent publicity suggesting it is a criminal investigation), and has been involved in several different types of scandals in the past.
All of those "scandals" were manufactured and none of them ended up in any kind of criminal charges. This one undoubtedly will end up with the same exoneration.
Your language sounds very much like a presumption of guilt, which is not how we do things in this country. We pride ourselves on a presumption of innocence in every situation, until there such time as is a conviction. That goes for every American.
And why just Hillary? http://mediamatters.org/blog/2016/02/12/speech-transcripts-the-press-finds-a-new-hoop-t/208557
Namo, I understand what you mean in the clinical sense but it's a fitting description of Trump's condition. I know my tribe. It's tough as hell sometimes to get along with my fellow str8 guys like Trump who constantly jockey for alpha status in every imaginable situation. For three debates now Trump has referred to Rubio as "Little Marco" and he all but called Jeb a "momma's boy" in Charleston which are fighting words. On that stage with Rubio, Cruz, and Kasich, at 6' 3" Trump towers over the field; he has the trophy wife; and he's got more money than all of them combined. He needs that edge to overcome some deep-seated insecurities.
Contrast that with how deferential he was towards Bill O'Reilly during a post-debate interview when Bill tightened the screws at the 4:42 mark. O'Reilly pointed out the height differential at the start to gain the psychological edge on Trump. Trump couldn't maintain eye contact with O'Reilly who has a couple of inches on him and the "stones" to threaten him. Trump is accustomed to looking down at others both literally and figuratively. Bill cleverly praised Melania Trump and elevated her above Trump sending him a subliminal message of "I'll take your ... if you ... with me you little prick". That was gangsta as fellas in the hood say.

OMG I love Obama and the Transcripts. They're finally coming to Pittsburgh this year! I just got my tix!
They're good but their name is actually "Obama and the Trans-crypts". They're now a gender neutral goth "Journey" cover band.
LOL
I just did a spit take at work. Thanks, guys.
Saudi's Exploding Christmas Gifts From Hillary Clinton
"As Hillary Clinton emerges as the front-runner for the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, she is receiving increased scrutiny for her years as Secretary of State. Many are criticizing her hawkish foreign policy, which is the best indication of what President Hillary's foreign policy would be, with many focusing on her long relationship with Saudi Arabia.
On Christmas Eve in 2011, Hillary Clinton and her closest aides celebrated a $29.4 billion sale of over 80 F-15 fighter jets, manufactured by U.S.-based Boeing Corporation, to Saudi Arabia. In a chain of enthusiastic emails, an aide exclaimed that it was "not a bad Christmas present."
These are the very fighter jets the Saudis have been using to intervene in the internal affairs of Yemen since March 2015. A year later, at least 2,800 Yemeni civilians have been killed, mostly by airstrikes--and there is no end in sight. The indiscriminate Saudi strikes have killed journalists and ambulance drivers. They have hit the Chamber of Commerce, facilities supported by Médecins Sans Frontières (also known as Doctors Without Borders), a wedding hall, and a center for the blind. The attacks have also targeted ancient heritage sites in Yemen. International human rights organizations are saying that the Saudi-led strikes on Yemen may amount to war crimes."

The point RE: Sanders losing popularity once the other side reinforce that he is a 'socialist', is a good one. Though I'd love to know how many people clearly understand what it is (and perhaps more importantly, what it is not) - see http://danawilliams2.tripod.com/american_socialism.html.

In a similar way, because of the rhetoric around Hillary Clinton and the scandals she has been involved in, it's unfortunate that it can influence a negative perception even if she is innocent.
Poor Bernie just doesn't know how to run a campaign.

Statesmanship is more than entertaining millennials.

Conservative leaning pollsters are finding Hillary to be less trusted than Trump when randomly sampled people are asked, "Considering the Whitewater Scandal and Benghazi and Email Things, wouldn't you say you trust Donald Trump more to tell it like it is?"
"Yes."
SoooooooFlorida: Oh my god you guys why are you campaigning so hard for her and volunteering for her and donating money to her when obviously other people, not me necessarily, but these mountains of nebulous other people HATE HER SO BAD? Good job, you guys!
Everybody else here: Nobody is saying or doing those things. We'll vote for her if she's the nominee.
SoooooooFlorida: Oh my god Trump is so funny. I am incredibly entertained by the Republican debates.
Namo: You have not shown yourself to be the epitome of astute political analysis.
SoooooooFlorida: Woah! Namo! You're far too deep for the likes of me to understand.
Namo: Sigh.
SooooooFlorida: Wow you guys. LITERALLY EVERYBODY HATES HILLARY ACCORDING TO POLLS and yet you're all PUSHING HER SO HARD. Excellent work.
God that Trump is so funny and these debates are hilarious. Loving 'em.
