I was all, did somebody bump an old thread?
But it's just an old poster, returned! Hello, glad to see you alive. We lost gothampc, but it was us, baby, who were the lucky ones.
Not to threadjack (if the kids still say that), but did he pass away? Or just get sick of this thread? Very sad to hear, if the former.
I am fantastic! I hope you all are great. I peruse every once in a blue moon. This thread caught my eye as I am OBSESSED/BURNED OUT with the election. No pun intended.

It is my understanding he passed.
I've never been able to get obsessed with this election, I have been burned out. I heard 3 seconds of CNN's WWE voice over narration setting up tonight's story line and I had renewed respect for the people who can listen to this crap. Also, I questioned their sanity.
Hello, JRBy. Did you see the Patti Murin thread on the Main Board? The bitch got all "Ban the Boards!" just because some poster said she couldn't sing her own high C's in Wicked.

Does jerby's return mean season 2 of The Message Board is in the works? Is he here for research? Is it going to be on Netflix.

I'm in! I would like my character to be played by a homeless woman so she could get the work.
JERBY!!!!!!!!!!! Nice to see you! Hope you are well. I love watching your wedding on line. Bring back the weight watchers thread! I need it!
The one thing I don't like about Hillary For America's donor form at the web site is the ease with which you can can accidentally select "recurring donation" instead of one-time. The site designers were very clever. I quickly canceled a recurring donation a few minutes ago and then made a one-off.

Hillary Clinton praises Nancy Reagan's HIV/AIDS advocacy. -Not The Onion
I wonder what Robby Mook thinks of that.
Oh, lands sakes alive...
Said Clinton...

Robby Mook, Hillary's openly gay campaign manager, is apparently scheduled to speak at gay-industrial-complex that is HRC (Human Rights Campaign) today. Guessing he won't address this.
This woman is so out of touch with the real world it's ridiculous.
Ugh, such a totally bad, bad thing to say. She wasn't even asked about AIDS. She drove into that tree all by herself.
Do you get it now? Do you see? Good.
Now come on over to Uncle Bernie's. He's been waiting for you.
Regarding Robby Mook, he just sent me an email request on behalf of Hillary For America trying to hit me up for $$$ after my donation earlier today. It's really a shame that it now takes a billion dollars to become POTUS.
Hillary may have, somewhat unintentionally, done history a favor in the long-run. There are already dozens of articles (more coming, I'm sure) and thousands of tweets and Facebook posts in which journalists and ordinary citizens are using this opportunity to set the record straight on the Reagans' true AIDS legacy. On a day in which the Right would want us to canonize this public figure and in which most people would defer to politeness or respectful silence, the truth is being shouted out from that proverbial rooftop. I guess, in the long run, that's a good thing.
I think there are a few things to consider when taking in Hillary's comments about Nancy Reagan regarding AIDS:
1. While the Reagans deserve intense scorn for their inaction (hundreds of thousands of people died while they did nothing--a great contrast to the action taken over a small group of people affected by tampered Tylenol), that isn't the entire picture (and the Advocate article below explains why).
2. Hillary was trying to speak kindly of someone (who is not a complete monster despite flaws and mistakes) on the day of their funeral and based on the Advocate article, her comments may not be entirely incorrect--just not a fully accurate picture.
3. Hillary would definitely have a different perspective (possibly inside knowledge) having been First Lady.
4. I do hope and expect a fuller response from Hillary that acknowledges the great pain & damage the Reagans caused before they finally took action on AIDS. I can't imagine the response to her comments won't merit such.
Overall, I don't think Hillary should be let off the hook, but she shouldn't be attacked either.

I think it was shade.

Nope. I vote for Democrats.

Just posted by Hillary on Facebook:
While the Reagans were strong advocates for stem cell research and finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease, I misspoke about their record on HIV and AIDS. For that, I'm sorry.
I'd like an explanation of her characterization of this as "misspeaking."
I still support Hillary but that particular apology is not a good look on her.
I really have very little preference between Clinton and Sanders, but this was a disaster of a statement and that apology is not much better. There's nothing to defend in her original statement to be sure, but maybe try and sound a little more apologetic when you actually apologize.
