re: phrases you hate

When people follow every statement with "Ya know what I'm sayin'?" as if whatever they were talking about was so profound that you didn't grasp it.

I hate hearing:

"it's cool, man, but look, I'm really straight."

I hate hearing "Your hypersexual behavior is beggining to make me feel impoverished."

re: phrases you hate

I agree with 95% of the above. Also... re: phrases you hate

* "And it goes a little something like this..." (when introducing a song)

* "Do you work here?" (No, I just stole a name tag, a t-shirt, and various other things normal shoppers don't carry into stores.)

* "on the same page"

* almost anything used right before or right after a commercial break on Entertainment Tonight

Yeah, I hate it when people say "the knots are too tight" or "you're cuttin' off my circulation" or " just let me go and I promise I won't tell anyone." It just makes me want to take a claw hammer and bash all their pearly whites right into their complainin' little faces.

I second "ya know what I'm sayin'". Why DO people throw it in at the end of every statement or two? It drives me crazy and really slows down getting to the point.

I hate it when people alter the vowels in their words. It's typically a ghetto thing to do. I think Nelly started it with "Hot in Herre."

I have since heard:

"Yo! It's over thurr."

"You ain't supposed to be hurr, whitey!"

"Should I do something with my hurr?"

It gets kind of old after a while.

Or when Snoop does that "shizzle nizzle hizzle" thing. Speak English.

I think Bill Cosby's recent tirades are just another example of what a pompous windbag he is and a sign of the rampant classism in the US culture, as evidenced in this very thread.

And I wonder why so many very well educated white youngsters who post on this board only have one word to describe postive experiences, performances, recordings or celebrities? Frankly, I find it amazing.

"Yo. Youse a gangsta biznitch."

not a pharase at all, but i swoon every time someone says the word "sherbert".... i just don't understand. it's "sherbet"...no "bert" at the end. how did this happen? i think that nine out of ten people say "sherbert." WHY? and it's no use trying to point it out to someone. people will defend "sherbert" until the last breath... but it is SHERBET!
