I'll be sleeping well tonight.

I thought the same thing Jane - literally held my breath until the cross fade. Pauly needs to rework his "mojo" - let's see if he can do it. What do you think will come of Adrianna's mom now that she has confronted Carm about Ade's disappearance?

NO... no baby for Tony and Carm. They touched upon that subject two seasons ago. Not gonna happen.

I didn't know Ade's mom was such an important character on the show, but after the discussion Carm and Tony had, it looks like there may be some followup. How about Christopher going back on drugs and booze?

This season, more than any other, is driving home what a bunch of greedy, gluttonous, loathsome losers they all really are. They're all appalling.

I don't get the significance of the ankle thing. During the wine scene and the getaway, I thought it looked like Tony may have been hit with a bullet. Then he gets out of the car and wonders what happened to his ankle. Now he limps and he thinks he sprained it. Maybe I'm looking for it to be important, but why even bother with the ankle?

Jane2... maybe it's just a way to convey how he's past his prime; seen better days. How he and his way of doing business is becoming passé': yesterday's news. The times they are a changin'. Tony reminiscing with Christopher about "old times" was kind of pathetic. The scenes last week with the two captains trying to extort money out of a Starbucks-like establishment and realizing that it's just not going to happen; that going up against a mega-corporation isn't the same as trying to strong-arm a mom and pop operation, leant itself to the same line of thinking. The prevailing themes this season have been (gluttonous) greed, betrayal, and changing times. It's all beginning to crumble. Decay is setting is. It has to end badly. How else can it end? That’s my take on it, anyway.

I thought Tony wasn't able to eat rich foods and yet tonight he's eating everything in sight and drinking wine. No after effects? I bet Paulie's biopsy is benign and then he gets whacked.

Interesting, Luscious. I hadn't thought of that angle, but it makes sense. Maybe that's how they'll bring the whole thing to an end.

Didn't Tony tell Dr. Melfi that each day is a gift but does the gift have to be socks? Tony doesn't want to change. He loves excess.

I thought the baby thing was more about what's going to happen to AJ rather than Tony wanting another child.

And I do think the Adrianna's ghost isn't quite through with Chris just yet.

Tony's sister is such a bitch. She was all upset about the possibility of her baby getting killed on the ride but totally disregarded Bobby's son's safety. What a hateful step mother

Janice has been crazy from the word "go." She's like Lavinia with no business acumen.

Christian music, electric sex toys - Janice has eclectic interests.

This episode was so bittersweet. I found the scenes with Tony and Christopher to be so sad, and I think Michael Imperioli's performance in this episode alone will get him an Emmy. Paulie's reconciliation with his Mother just so moving, and the scene with Tony and the baby at the end very sweet. I think the scene represented Tony realizing that the gifts were more than just "socks".
I also have a dreadful feeling that it is setting up AJ's demise.

PEACE.

Michael Imperioli's Christopher is perfection. I would give him an Emmy for every season of the Sopranos. Paulie reconciled with his "mother" out of his fear of facing death, as if the sociopath is going to heaven anyway.

For me, that very last scene with Paulie at his mother's place was a touching comparison of the two of them.

Here she is in her simple little room watching Lawrence Welk play happy little tunes, and outside the window was the simple beauty of nature-a breeze through the branches of blossoms. This compared to the ugly violent and complex life of Paulie the hood - it made me appreciate the simple things of life even more. And I think it did that for Paulie too. A return to mom and simplicity.

I don't think Paulie had ulterior motives for going to his Mother. It was a scared child wanting the comfort of his mother's house, it was him accepting her as his mother. Just so beautifully done.

PEACE.

He had a vision of the Blessed Mother. Don't you think that may have had something to do with his "change of heart"? That, and he's scared and needed his mommy.

Don't forget he saw that because of his cheapness he was responsible for the kiddie ride accident and the statue without the hat. He made a lot of people hurt and unhappy. This, compounded with his health scare, threw him into a panic so he turned to his mother. Makes sense. We're all little children inside.
