So, I have a lovely Best Buy gift card and im checking out their 'gifts for her' under $100. Im a little lost.
The first thing that comes up thats kinda cool is a DVD/VCR combo but if Im gonna buy one of those, I think Id rather wait and spend $200 to get the one that lets you transfer things back and forth between the two formats.
Second I see a portable DVD player that 7inches which sounds really cool but other than sitting on rush lines and the occassional 3 hour car ride, I dont know when Id use it. My computer plays DVDs and my living room has a nice wide screen attached to a DVD player.
They have a cute little sewing machine but I usually use my moms classic 30yr old one, which has been frustrating at times but usually the older models seem to be a better quality.
Theres a digital voice recorder which would be awesome for when I do interviews and such but I had kinda hoped to get something more fun and less necessity.
Then theres of course the MP3 player/Ipod selection and there seem to be about seven of them that are under $100. I never really had an urge to buy one before but I suppose Id use it if I had one. Some seem to play FM radio, some seem to have voice recorder capabilities. (which ties into my previous item option if there isnt some sort of 2-min time limit on sound bytes)
I had originally thought Id pick up a digital camera but my mom let out an oh so subtle, wait till after christmas when I mentioned that idea.
If I go just a little bit higher with my price range I can buy a really small tablet (110$) which might be fun but again, I might be smarter to save and get a nicer one for $300.
Any thoughts would be welcome. I feel like Im kinda thinking aloud.

I would go with the portable DVD player.
would it be somewhat backward of me to have a portable dvd player before owning an mp3 player? heh.

Yes it would. But for $100 I don't think the mp3 player would hold that many songs...
Or you could buy DVDs with it and spend the card gradually.
the mp3 players all seemed to hold 1GB. the ipod they had was an ipod shuffle.
I thought about buying dvds, which is totally still an option, I just thought I might buy something more substantial.
The iPod shuffle holds around 100 songs, right?
i dont think the best buy website showed a number of songs, just a total file size. maybe the apple website would say tho.
better yet...SEND IT TO ME, if making a choice that that difficult, hehehehe
I think you'd probably be disappointed with a portable DVD player at that price. They simply can't make a good quality screen for that cheap yet.
The iPod will hold about 200 songs (you should be able to get over 10 hours of music on it).
Hope this helps (c:
I'd go with the digital voice recorder. I need one of those.
So, if Hanukkah Harry is listening...
But if Hanukkah Harry is listening forget the recorder get me new clothes.
Praying to the E makeover godess.
