Hey, gang!
So, I have a quick (albeit random) question for you. In all my years, I've NEVER done a 2-show day before -- meaning, of course, seeing a matinee and an evening show -- with hypothetical dinner in-between.
My question is this: What does one usually do with their Playbill going into the 2nd show? I, more often than not, don't carry a backpack with me to store it, or anything like that. Also, would another theatre permit something like that? I know this silly, I'm just looking for some perspective.
Thanks so much,

You can put it in your bag (but you say you don't carry one), you can put it in your coat pocket, or just have it out there and no one will give a damn. You can also roll it and then no one sees the show it is from, if it makes you uncomfortable.

I've never been concerned about a theater having a problem with me carrying in the playbill from another show. I may be unaware of some rule but I can't imagine why it would bother them. But in order to keep that playbill from the earlier show from getting too many fingerprints, creases etc. during the evening show, I will usually pop into a hotel lobby before the evening show and grab a copy of the monthly Where or In New York magazines which are free and usually in a pile at the concierge stand and just keep the playbills inside of them. Works every time. The Marriott Marquis always has them and their 8th floor lobby is my go to place to kill 30 or 40 minutes before an evening show if I finish dinner early.
Uncle Charlie is 100% correct. Theater won't care if you bring in a separate playbill. The playbills, however, I really quite susceptible to smudging and fingerprints if you handle it too much, so his suggestion of the magazine is a great one.

I admire your innocence.
Me, I have a purse that fits a playbill.
I've often struck up a conversation with a seat neighbor about a show when I enter noticed a different playbill

Going out after the evening show is another problem with having a playbill. I don't mind if my playbill gets a little messed up so I usually will fold into a jeans pocket where part of the show title may still be visible. I admit I kind of like getting approached in a bar because of the Playbill in my pocket lol. Or better yet, seeing people point at me and say "look that dude just saw Hamilton tonight!" lol.
I am lucky and I have always been able to hand it to my wife to put in her bag - lol. I have seen plenty of people carrying them into a 2nd show and it is not a problem. Like another poster mentioned, you could roll it up but that may not keep it as nice as you make like.
Didn't you post this a couple years ago? I remember this exact post.
