After much debate about what we were going to do for our musical this year. We are doing "Hello Dolly" its not my favorite but Im going to try out for Horace Vandergelder and Cornelius Hackle. I wanna be Cornelius but whichever part I get I will be content.

Found out today that we are doing Singing in the Rain at our school. 4 leads. All tap. I'm screwed.

In case anyone cares, because I do, we got the okay to do "Little Shop!" I'm so excited! I've wanted to do this show for as long as I can remember. I'm praying that I can stick it out at the audition and get Seymour (because of the little amount of guys, I know I'll be one of three men in the cast).

Our school is doing "Forum" and we do not have that much male talent.....I tried to convince the teacher to do "Children of Eden" but he insists on doing "Forum"....i know that COE has a lot of guys too, but not as many as Forum, and there are a lot of storytellers in COE....what do you guys think?

We're doing Oklahoma.
I can't sing so I didn't try out... and compared to last year's amazing West Side Story, this is gonna be pretty boring.

We did put on the play The Laramie Project earlier though! :)

We're tackling "The Pirates of Penzance" in the spring; currently doing "Pippin", and just finished up "Twelfth Night"....

The high school I went to is doing Seussical too, with the 3rd drama teacher in 3 years- let's see how that one goes.

My sister is dancing in it because she's good at that, but hates acting and singing. She came home after the first day of rehearsals with a migraine caused by the music.

We just finished The Mouse That Roared, which turned out very well and was well recieved by the judges of the CETA festival.

Now were are in our second week of rehersing Into The Woods. I am Jack's Mother, and the show is really going to be awsome. But it is a huge undertaking for any high school to do.

Ooohh! This is a good forum!

Our high school is doing West Side Story this year. I'm on the crew, and rehearsals are going so well. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Last year we did Once Upon A Mattress, and the year before was The Music Man.
2002- My Fair Lady
2001- Damn Yankees
2000- Meet Me In Saint Louis and Into the Woods
1999- Guys and Dolls
1998- Hello Dolly
1997- Fiddler on the Roof
1996- Grease
Not sure of the rest... :)

The Sound of Music, I'm Louisa. It wasn't anyone's first :)choice show but we have the perfect cast for it(other than the fact that friedrich is 9, but he's amazing).

Me and my friend have already planned out our musicals for the next two years because we will have a say, junior year chidren of eden (jesus and into the woods as backups) and Gypsy senior year.

Once Upon A Mattress and I'm dying since I not in Upper School for another year. But the drama teacher loves me and said she'd consider possibly doing Hairspray sometime in the next few years! Not that I would be Tracy... heehee!!!!

my high school is doing "sweet charity" the cast was posted and they did pretty darn good job of casting(they usually do)

but i dont do the shows at my school cuz i leave school early and go to performing arts magnet school so i can only do the shows there...we are doing "damn yankees" the casting sucks(has to be the worst casting of a show ever)im playing doris...yeah ****ty part...i dont get to sing

but who knows i might not be doin it for long b/c i just auditioned for the wizard of oz at this profressional theater company and i got a call back for dorothy...its between me and 2 other girls...and im ecstatic...this is a dream role of mine...and there r 16 shows...and damn yankees is during some of them...so hopefully ill get it and then i can drop that **** hahahha

::breathes::

i feel better now :)

my school is currently doing "nunsense", i'm sister leo (great show) and next we're doing "forum", i don't really want to do that show though, first of all we don't have enough guy talent, second of all its not one of my favorites. o well we'll see what happens

I love how everyone here can never give up a chance to talk about themselves....myself included.
My high school is doing Fiddler on the Roof (ironically at a Catholic school) im in the ensemble and it was just cast this week. I am so glad we arent doing suessical, poor me is in that with a community theater and its been the worst theater experience ive had after 6 years of theater.
