Last year SHN announced around now, but I don't think the previous year was announced until May.
Are Gypsy and The Little Mermaid tours, or are they being produced there?
Gypsy is being produced here from Theater Latté Da & the Hennepin Theatre Trust. The reworked production of The Little Mermaid is from Houston's Theater Under the Stars, I believe it's a regional tour.

I'm especially interested to see what SHN is bringing in. This is their first year without CSH, right?
Yep, and no Curran.
Oh I just realized you are probably right about the Curran. That is my favorite theatre of all time What do you think will go in to the Curran now? It doesn't seem logical to leave a theatre empty.
I'm wondering if it'll be used for graduations, non-Broadway dance shows, comedians and such. I'm pretty sure that's what happened to the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago when it stopped being a Broadway in Chicago house.

I'm familiar with the SHN theatre scene, but what does CSH stand for?

CSH = Carole Shorenstein Hays
Why is the Curran no longer being used for Broadway shows?

That may change now that Shorenstein Hays has left SHN, as details of future operating agreements become known. Shorenstein Hays is said to own the Curran Theatre, and the agreements under which SHN - which retains the business name - will use the three theaters have not yet been announced.

Shame if the Curran indeed goes away. I'd rather the Golden Gate not be a part of the series than the Curran.
Agreed!
I wish I knew what was going to happen there. A friend who's a SHN usher said they had a goodbye pizza party to the Curran, at the Curran.

The Curran is undergoing renovations and will be back better than ever. I for one hope the Golden Gate falls into the Pacific.
Same, the Golden Goat as I like to call it is one of the ugliest theaters. The Curran, however, is where I have my fondest theatre memories.
Why hasn't the Ahmanson in LA announced their new season yet? Are they usually much later than the Pantages?
Also what shows do we think will go there?

Any idea if Shorenstein Hayes might try to book shows into the Curran and compete with SHN?
Here in the California desert (near Palm Springs), the McCallum Theater hosts quite a few touring shows, as does the Fox in Riverside, about an hour away. Unfortunately, they usually play for at most 3 performances each. That seems to eliminate the most technically complex musicals from coming to this area, because it's too much to set up and tear down in the small amount of time allotted. When I saw "Elf," the first performance was late starting because something technical was still going on -- sound checks or last minute stage set-up or who knows what else.
I always assumed that the short runs would eliminate most of the shows with elaborate sets or effects -- setting up a chandelier to crash or a helicopter to land would be very difficult unless the theater would be kept empty for days in advance. Yet, I noticed that the Fox has just added Les Miz to the end of the 2014-15 season. I wonder whether they'll use the new Broadway staging.

No. The Curran is closed for renovations (cue Little Shop music), and is still an SHN venue.
Why they would renovate the Curran before the Goat is beyond me.
Not to be rude but I've already predicted/said what shows might/will be going to the Ahmanson theatre a million times on this thread. I hope Hedwig comes just for L.A. that'll be awesome. Cause it looks like it's not going on tour.
I haven't really seen Bullets Over Broadway, Les Mis, or Hedwig booked for that many places

It seems that it is a very small non-equity regional tour:

^ 9 performances, 5 venues all within a 100 mile radius, over the course of 6 months? That is not a tour.

That would be considered a small non-union regional tour.
