There is a tour of The Sound of Music that NETworks is sending out, directed by Jack O'Brien. The production that is going to be at the 5th Avenue is an independently produced production directed by David Bennett, not the NETworks tour.

Tampa, FL's 2015-2016 season for the Straz Center was announced this morning. As usual, very robust.

Broadway in Chicago has Kinky Boots, Pippin, BOM, Illusionists, Beauty and the Beast, Gentlemans Guide, Jersey Boys, Once and Beautiful. There are also pre Broadway tryouts of N-The Queen of Paris, On Your Feet and First Wives Club.

Is Oz an independent production or are they doing another tour? The website states that "THE TOUR HAS NOW FINISHED" so I'm confused/interested. If it is a second tour, I wonder what the casting gimmick is gonna be.

According to Troika's website, THE WIZARD OF OZ national tour will launch this fall. It'll more than likely be Non-Equity. http://www.troika.com

Atlanta's Broadway Across America season was just released:
-Jersey Boys- Oct. 6-11 (season option)
-Cinderella- Nov. 3-8
-Elf- Dec. 2-6
-Book of Mormon- Jan. 12-24 (season option)
-NETworks Beauty and the Beast- Feb. 2-7 (season option)
-The Sound of Music- Mar. 1-6
-Kinky Boots- Mar. 29-Apr. 3
-Beautiful- May 24-29
-The Wizard of Oz- June 21-26
-If/Then- Aug. 9-14

A little bummed no Matilda or Cabaret, but definitely a fuller season than we've had. A little surprised that we are getting BOM again-- just had that last spring.

Leezy, I suspect that BOM keeps repeating because it's so difficult to get tix that many folks are shut out. When it played at the Kennedy Center in DC a few years ago, it sold out in a few hours, during the purchase period for members -- the general public never had a chance.

The Wizard of Oz tour is re-launching with AEA performers this time, rather than Canadian Equity actors. The physical production will be exactly the same.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's Production of The Wizard of Oz IS AMAZING!!! I love the new songs. I saw it 3 times when it came to L.A. in 2013.

I'm ridiculously pleased with Minneapolis! I'd say it's the best season we've gotten in a long time. Excited to see the re-imagined/reworked Little Mermaid production.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announced this morning that Matilda would be coming to Pittsburgh from 5/31/16-6/12/16.

The rest of the season for Pittsburgh is being announced on February 26th.
