I agree, as you probably recall, DSM had a string of awful seasons and had to shake up the executive team. With the old team they would never had brought BOM and never would have gotten Hamilton.
I hope whatever issues there are between ATTPAC and DSM can be solved, the Winspears is perfect for shows compared to Fair Park. Plus, leaving Fair Park at night can get sketchy quickly.
"
I agree with that as well. I like two things about Fair Park: I like going to the buffet restaurant before the show and I like the big bathrooms! They are luxuriously huge compared to most theatres. The bathrooms at Winspear are too small, but otherwise, Winspear is awesome.
I have no idea if DSM and ATTPAC could work together.... that would be ideal, but after years of being the ugly little brother, DSM is probably happy to rule the Dallas musical scene alone. I figured that DSM would eventually close down as ATTPAC took over control of the best shows and DSM's aging subscriber base began to die off, but that doesn't look like it is happening. I was told DSM more than doubled their subscribers after they went with Broadway Across America and announced they would be getting Hamilton.

How is it that tour stops like these are announced by the venue but they don't appear on the show's website listing?"
Many of the cities listed there have NOT announced their seasons yet, and some that have (Tampa, for example) don't have Saigon as part of it, which would indicate it's a city that they're going to the second year of the tour.
Kelly should be playing the role through the tour’s last performance in Tucson on Sunday, March 18, according to Playbill
Got a ticket to the March 15 show in Tucson. I do hope that Kelly is performing through the entirety of the Tucson stop. Her website indicates both the Costa Mesa and Tucson stops.

8. Come From Away: 11-16 Jun2019"
BAA jumped the gun on that one as the Dr. Philips Center social media pages have been telling everyone it would be revealed in some grand video at 10 AM.
Overall, not a bad season. We don’t need White Christmas, but it could be worse.

The season is pretty good; as adamgreer said we really don’t need White Christmas but I am excited for Dolly, DEH, and Anastasia. Also Fiddler should be fun.
Well, BAA has now removed their announcement of the new season, so someone must have told them they weren't supposed to post that yet. The Dr. Phillips social media pages claimed it was nothing more than "rumors" and then deleted all the posts.
Edit...now the Orlando Sentinel has an article about it, so this announcement really got away from them quickly.

The Orlando Sentinel article was up around 6 AM EST, which I was really surprised about. Expected they'd hold it out until Dr. Phillips announced, but then again the email subscribers got said it would be announced in the Orlando Sentinel, so maybe they weren't concerned about that one.
Basically what was left over after DSM cherry picked Hamilton, Hello Dolly, Anastasia, Aladdin, DEH etc.
I have been a season subscriber since the year ATTPAC opened, therefore when they added the $1000 subscriber donation for orchestra center seating, they grandfathered me in and didn't make me pay the additional $1000 for the last few years. But now, when their programming is the worst, and they are losing subscribers just like me to DSM (I subscribed to DSM for the first time this current season) they have decided to eliminate the grandfather clause going forward and make me pay an extra $500 this year and $1000 extra starting next season and for all seasons to come.
Starting next year, I am going to decline my season subscription as one of their original year 1 subscribers. What a time for them to start charging loyal subscribers an extra $1000. I was already thinking of cancelling my subscription due to the poor lineups they are putting out, and now they want an extra $1000?
And they have decreased from a two week venue to a one week venue to save money, so they have to combine two weeks worth of subscribers into one week for all shows. They are telling many subscribers that the seats they have had for the last umpteen years are no longer available, and they have to be moved to different seats. It is like they are trying to fail.
According to someone I talked to on the phone yesterday in the information office, the Kennedy Center in DC doesn’t expect to announce until late April or early May. The rep didn’t know why KC is so late, but being that late is pretty normal for them, unfortunately.

I am in the middle of Rochester and Buffalo and I am feeling VERY confident that falsettos, miss saigon and hopeuflly anastasia/catcf are going to come to us, since not many dates have been announced. I cannot wait to hear.
Never knew the Dallas theatre scene was so cut throat.

Praying that DOLLY shuffles off to Buffalo with Buckley but not holding my breath. We already know we're getting HAMILTON, DEH and it appears MISS SIAGON. So the big question mark is what will take the other three spots.
Has COME FROM AWAY announced a launch date/city yet? I could see that doing EXTREMELY well here with the large number of Canadian subscribers Shea's has. FINDING NEVERLAND launched here two years ago, and ON YOUR FEET! this past fall. It would be great to launch another show here this year.
BTW.. Saw SOMETHING ROTTEN! last night. What a fun show. And it was so great hearing the Sunday night Shea's audience giving a prolonged applause after the delicious 'A Musical.' Also, Rob McClure is just incredible in everything he touches.
