Hadestown will get many noms and wins, Be more chill might get a couple of noms but I don't see it winning many, at the most one. I wonder if the prom will win any but I know it will get noms

Wasn’t Hadestown already nominated a few years ago when Off Broadway? Eligible again?
It's always a total crapshoot with the Outer [Space] Critics Circle Awards. I'm not going to try to make guesses.
It's worth noting that 4/9 voters are new this year (including the addition of female voters), and they have a new president. List of voting members.
Fully expect GETTIN’ THE BAND BACK TOGETHER and BEETLEJUICE to lead the nominations.
Fiddler will be eligible, correct?

I agree with your 1st paragraph, but the 9 are the nominators, not the voters. (Is there a single legitimate critic among them?)
Hoping for lots for The Prom!!!

I fully expect “It Shoulda Been You” to get another nomination for Best Musical even though it closed 4 years ago.
I really hope Choir Boy can sneak in a nom for best play as well. Shouldn't this be considered a revival since its played off broadway before? Isn't that the case for Waverly Gallery?
As always, an interesting list with some big omissions:
Jeff Daniels missed for TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD
Lots of love for ALL MY SONS but none for Letts or Benning
Patrick Page missed for HADESTOWN, and per their ruling he was eligible.
I'm wondering that despite the material if Leslie Kritzer has enough good will to sneak into Featured Actress at the Tony's a la Jennifer Simard for DISASTER..

I know, I know, we're not supposed to take these seriously as Tony indicators but looks like Hillary/Clinton and Gary and Burn This were all shut out entirely (the latter being criminal re Adam Driver), and not alot of love for Beetlejuice or The Cher Show either.
But the few Ferryman and TKAM nominations sorta highlight how much this is a universe unto itself. I expect both to pick up double digit Tony nominations, just as I think Oklahoma!'s cast (RNJ, Testa, Vaill) to be more rewarded as well.

I disagree! We SHOULD be taking it seriously as a Tony indicator! If someone gets omitted from the OCC awards, that’s a clear indication that they WILL get nominated for the Tony, and vice versa!
These actually don't seem too strange to me. The Jeff Daniels omission is only slightly shocking because 3 of the spots in that category went to off-Broadway performances. And I am THRILLED that Head Over Heels got the 4 nominations it did, all of which it thoroughly deserved. I would have given it a fifth nomination in the choreography category over Ain't Too Proud, but I'll take what I can get.
So so happy for Jeremy Pope!!! Not surprised the love The Ferryman is getting. Im expecting it to win Best Play here. In general, since I don't follow these super closely every season, which awards are the more likely indicators towards Tony noms? Just curious if theres any sort of trend with theatre theatre awards like there are with the oscars.
I'm not mad at these nominations. Some surprises, but mostly in good ways! Even where I'm stunned by omissions (Jeff Daniels, Laurie Metcalf), I'm not mad at who did get in. Fingers crossed Jeremy Pope can keep getting noticed!

That certainly seems to be the case with the omissions of Metcalf, Daniels, Driver.
While I get the sentiment, but in many (some?) cases, if you drop out the non-Broadway performances, you get a pretty good idea of where things are headed. Best Actor in a Musical, for example, will likely be those four minus Skybell's Tevye. Certainly encouraging for Jeremy Pope's chances that he made this cut. I wonder how many times the eventual Tony winner, for example, failed to make the OCC nominations at all. (Ie, as wacky as these are, does Elaine May's inclusion signify her chances, and does Daniels' exclusion hurt his?)

I think it's a case of, "certainly helps, but also doesn't hurt." For those who got in, fantastic. It raises their profile and reminds people of their performances and gives them momentum. But snubs are normal considering the inclusion of Off Bway shows. I think this definitely gives May a boost considering her show closed a while back, but I feel very confident that Metcalf will be there Tony night. Ditto for Daniels.

Thrilled about Pope's nomination. Hopefully, if anything, it gives him some good face time and reminds the nominating committee of his performance.
I think the leading actress in a musical lineup is perfectly fine, though it does feel distinctly odd to have Reeve Carney nominated and Eva Noblezada omitted.
These aren't terribly out-there, for OCC, at least. The usual strangeness of combining off and on Broadway and starstruckness account for a lot of odder choices (I highly doubt the tepidly received All My Sons will be getting much of anything- and I doubt that Gary and Hillary & Clinton will be shut out).
I have to say, though, that the Best Featured Actress in a Musical category is excellent and I would be very happy to see it repeated at the Tonys.
Could Bonnie get a surprise Tony nomination?! That would be amazing!!!
Kad said: "I have to say, though, that the Best Featured Actress in a Musical category is excellent and I would be very happy to see it repeated at the Tonys."
That's probably the one category that I think might be exactly the same for the Tonys. The only other person I can see sneaking in there is Lilli Cooper assuming she's eligible in the featured category.
For comparison, last years Outer Circle noms vs, Tonys:
(Keep in mind that The Band’s Visit wasn’t eligible at OCC because it had been nominated and won in many categories the year before)

I'm not sure about Cooper- but I could see Kritzer or Milligan being dropped in favor of Mary Testa.
Looking at the above comparisons, the main thing that pops out to me as far as wins, is that MFL got more love at OCC than the Tonys. Mainly in the best revival category as the MFL winners in the OCC acting categories were bested at the Tonys by actors from TBV, which wasn’t eligible at OCC during that season.
