The Winter Garden is stacked above the Elgin. They are apparently the only operating double-decker theatre. The Winter Garden is way too small (stage wise) to house tours.

Winter Garden could house some tours - shows the size of a Six, for example. The Elgin has hosted tours in the past. It's a gorgeous set of theatres, and a shame that they aren't used more often, especially the Winter Garden.

Since I’ve been following Toronto theatre over the last 10 years or so I have never known the Winter Garden to be used.

The Winter Garden gets a lot of small concerts, one person shows. However, within the last 8 years there was a production of Grease that played there for about 6 months or so, Dee Synder of Twisted Sister had a Christmas production, and the pantomine in 2019 moved upstairs from the Elgin to the Winter Garden. Bea Arthur did her one woman show there back in the early 2000's, many revues, etc. There have been a few drag artists as well tour.

Also bummed we aren’t getting The Wiz. Bummed Les Mis is in the Subscription and not a new show. Would love to have seen Funny Girl.
I am very relieved however Company is coming! Overall satisfied.
That’s cool! Double decker theater. Very pretty.

Do we know if any of these are going into the Emerson Colonial? Or are they all scheduled for the Opera House?

Chicago, A Girl From The North Country, and Clue will all be at the Emerson Colonial. The rest is at the Opera House!
I see that the Tootsie tour is going into a bunch of states where the Rethuglicins are drafting anti-drag legislation, some of which state the performer can be arrested if a child is in the audience. I assume the Mrs. Doubtfire tour will go to some of those states as well. Wonder how this is going to play out.

I guess most of Shakespeare's comedies would also be VERBOTEN. Hairspray? Peter Pan? Nope.
Welcome to the new Naziland!
We’ll see if they actually pass the bills. Will only hurt them with less shows going there, less concerts, etc. Stupid. All based out of fear and no content.

can’t wait to see what’s in store for this upcoming season, besides Six (which is so much fun!!)"
Me too! It was so nice to have someone to keep Mirvish on their toes. Dancap brought some great tours to Toronto: Next to Normal, Avenue Q, Spelling Bee and 9 to 5 come to mind.
I hope Mirvish delivers with this season. I was too underwhelmed to renew last year."
I'll say this, it will probably be a bit better than this past season, so I'll give it that. I could easily see there being an eyebrow-raising choice or two.

Buffalo (Shea's) is announcing on April 7. Presumably they will have MJ as the "announcement of an announcement" email says "Next season is guaranteed to be a thriller!".

Accidentally got an email earlier for Orlando’s Broadway season.
Moulin Rouge
Les Mis
Peter Pan
Annie
Mrs. Doubtfire
Aladdin
Jagged Little Pill
Clue
Funny Girl
very family friendly season
The itineraries are still on IATSE's website publicly. Although, as someone who checks the site frequently, they have seemed to not upload the itineraries until an announcement is made, or almost at a point when half of the dates have past.
For example, the To Kill a Mockingbird current itinerary only has dates from March 2022-March. 2023. I bet that by the end of March or April, they will update it once the majority of the season announcements have come out

I love that Orlando leaked their own season. Oops! Hope whoever made the mistake doesn’t get in too much trouble! Sad we’re not getting Mamma Mia or Company! Also, it’s been about 6 years since Lion King was in Orlando, so I’m surprised to see Aladdin again.

I know. Some people got an email that said stay tuned for March 10th and others just got the announcement! Hahaha

I was terribly disappointed in this announcement. Lame doesn't even begin to express how lackluster this season is. Company? The Cher Show? Mamma Mia!? It's a shame Orlando is taking a backseat to Tampa as they seem to get everything first.

Great season for Des Moines... that's the lineup I was hoping for Boston!
Des Moines definitely has the best lineup I’ve seen so far!
To be honest, if the Des Moines lineup was my hometown's lineup, I'd love that!

Anyone know when Tampa is announcing? I’m curious what will be different from Orlando. Especially considering they already got Jagged Little Pill and Annie in their current season.
