I know it's early, but I just got an email from Broadway in Detroit announcing their new season
I'll take this season, not super excited about Wicked being a subscription show, but the rest is strong in my opinion.
Wow! Very early announcement

I'm guessing since Six is coming in May/June, they're making the announcement far earlier than normal. I'm a subscriber but didn't get the email, though.
Broadway Across Canada last week also announced (for some reason) that Hadestown is coming for the 23/24 season in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary.
Only announcement so far, also very early.
I was going to report here then, but there was no thread yet and I didn’t want to start one.

This is, so far, the second city with Company and the first for Doubtfire(wondering if it will be equity or not).

Definitely agree with Wicked being a subscription show being kind of a bummer. Curious on what the mystery 7th show is!
I’m hoping the Wicked tour makes it’s way back around to Philly next season. Would love to see it again but every time I’m in New York I like to see new things. Also it’s basically the only show that doesn’t get swallowed up by the Academy of Music.

Detroit is the first city chronologically (so far), but Company was also part of Denver's 2023-2024 season and is headed there in May of 2024.
A new EQUITY tour of Mamma Mia will be beginning next season. The last time Mamma Mia toured was in 2016-2017 with a non-equity cast and was ascribed as being the “farewell tour.”

A farewell to what exactly? It hasn't been touring, or on Broadway in a while. Maybe its like the Cher Farewell Tour that goes on for years, and then she keeps touring...although, I keep going to see her ahahaha
Mamma Mia has been done in every regional and community theater since it closed on Broadway. I'm sure it'll still sell, just shocked it's going out on your again (and as an equity tour).
I love this. Broadway In Boston will almost surely book this lol.
Just went to the 3 main touring sites and saw that Work Light Productions is showing Company, Mamma Mia and Mrs. Doubtfire (which we knew was touring due to the Detroit annoucement), but NETworks is showing a tour of the Styne, Comden & Green/Charlap & Leigh "Peter Pan" for 2023...I'm going to assume that its safe to say that at the age of 70, Peter will not be played by Cathy Rigby.
Since Into The Woods premiered in the summer, far earlier than most shows in the current broadway season. Is it possible ITW can tour, in the 23/24 season? I imagine it wouldn’t be difficult to tour. May want to capitalize on possible Tony’s from June and continue the momentum of this revival.
I think the main draw on Broadway is the casting. You likely wouldn't get a name cast touring; and on a tour some names might mean nothing. The simple staging likely would be seen as a disappointment to tour audiences, and could result in many subscriber complaints. Rights to the show were not withdrawn for regional productions while it played Broadway, and there are many regional productions across the country that have played recently or are upcoming. Some, such as the one soon to play Seattle's 5th Avenue, are expected to be quite lavish.
I don't see this production touring.

I agree with Inception. I do not see Into The Woods touring given how many other productions there are around the country.
Hamilton will make a 20 week return engagement to Chicago next fall beginning September 12, 2023. On top of that Beetlejuice will play the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago beginning November 6, 2023 through November 19, 2023.

Feel free to drop more itineraries! I'm curious to find out my theatres season! LOL!
You can find more itineraries for touring shows here!
“MJ” is set to launch the tour in Chicago too in August.

Apparently the links to the itineraries are no longer available on the IATSE website, because apparently this information was not supposed to be public. Even though they were posted to a public website that hundreds, maybe thousands of viewers access every day. If they didn’t want this information public they wouldn’t have posted to a public website. It also seems they don’t care enough to rid of the links, which still work. I understand if official announcements need to be made or contracts need to be settled, but that does not negate that this information was already posted to the internet, which is forever. If they wanted to wait to announce these engagements on their respective social media outlets then they also should’ve waited to post these itineraries. I think the industry gaslighting and gatekeeping of this kind of information is childish and despicable.
I know we won't find out for a while about Company, but I'm so eager to know their cast.
