I've been to one side which I usually hate; but at the Marquis I was pleasantly suprised...not as bad as most.

One of my friends recently told us that the over the last two days, it took them 10 hours to do one song.

dramamama, is it okay being all the way on the side at the Marquis?
The 7th can't come soon enough.

I'll be there on Tuesday!! Second row of the Mezz on the left side.
AHHHHH!!!
Yes...it's "ok". Of course I can't speak for the set of 9 to 5 and how that may affect things.
A good friend of mine is going this week (I think Wednesday) and Dolly is going to do a talk back at the end of the performance.

Wait...a talkback?! Where can I get confirmation of this?

10 hours to tech one song is not unheard of. Especially if it's a tech and automation heavy show like 9 to 5.

I'm going to guess the "10 hour number" was either the titular opening or "Shine Like the Sun", both of which do entire set changes over the course of about five seconds several times during the number.
Watching the empty stage transform into a full office in under 15 seconds seamlessly and fluidly was the first time I've ever gasped at a set change.
^ Yes, especially since the cast members are dancing all around the moving set pieces, incorporating the change into the choreography!
It might have been the new ensemble number mentioned by Marc Kudisch, but I suppose they would have rehearsed that already to get it down.
I look forward to thoughts from those who will be able to see it soon =)

I really had no idea of how much the set changed in this show. Hopefully it will all be ironed out by Tuesday.

Ry, I know it is a concierge night. Not sure if the talkback is for everyone or just for the concierges that will be attending.

This makes me grrrr-y! Can I become a concierge by Wednesday night? haha
I just spoke to him and he said he thinks it is Thursday night not Wed.
Somebody emailed SJB & as of now they are still set to go on Tuesday.

The show is in great shape. No sign of canceling previews.

Wow, I really don't know the last time I've been this excited for a show. Wicked and Spamalot come to mind, but even those seem to ple in comparisson.
"How are ticket sales?"
I heard from a friend of mine. who saw the show in LA, that the advance isn't staggering. Which kinda shocked me. Based on what I've seen online (vids on the official site, etc) and the cast this is the show that I've really been looking forward to. I really feel we have a hit on our hands. I guess a lot of people are playing "wait and see" before buying tickets.
I don't know anything else beyond that and I, personally, have no inside info. Just something I heard through the grapevine. I really hope that this show can find its audience and quickly. As I said - based on the little that I've seen it's already won me over. And my friends who saw it in LA simply RAVE over the show.
I can't wait to see it next month.
The show will be a huge hit; it will just need word of mouth to propel it there. And people are already buzzing about it so once it opens and everyone has a great time at it (which they will, it's so much fun) it will surely break out.
And Dolly's 60 Minutes appearance should help the advance some

I watched it last night. Literally, all they did was mention it once and show 15 seconds of a press reel. It woulda been nice for them to show a rehearsal, or interview the cast about working with her, or do part of the interview in the audience of the Marquis.
But it was still a wonderful interview. Dolly's so down to earth and sweet.
I feel like this show is going to be the next Hairspray.
