The CMA's are Wednesday night and the promos are saying "A special performance that will have everyone talking". Rumor is flying that "9 to 5" is performing the title song. Apparently country artist have been mentioning things at concerts lately.
Anyone heard this? If its true, DAMN Dolly's got connections!
Well, Dolly is Dolly. Hahaha.
That would be awesome.
Shocking, but awesome!
I have two aunts who go to EVERY country artist concert that comes close to our town. At Sugarland they said "Watch the CMA's there is going to be one heck of a musical performance"
It makes total sense as business savvy as Dolly is. She has been so gracious and wonderful in promoting this show. By having the show perform the title number at the CMA's, it not only shows Dolly's devotion to her show...but also a sure-fire way to sell a heck of a lot of tickets. Country music fans are pretty much an un-tapped resource on Broadway that could pump a ton of money into this show and keep it running for a long time. (Kind of a no-brainer, but still well-played if the rumors are true.)

Not shocking. Dolly & Reba are the queens of Country Music.
...how does Reba key into this?
In 2001, Reba catapulted her career AND Broadway to new heights when she created magic replacing Bernadette Peters in the revival of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN.
If ever a personality and a role made a perfect fit -- that was it.
Reba's Annie was one of the single best performances I've ever seen. She was absolutely fantastic. One of the most perfect castings in recent memory.
And I hope this is true! Would they be performing it at the top of the show?
I want Reba as Annie. WHY DO YOU TEASE US BRODY!?!?! I know you have a good bootleg of her!!

I hope I'm allowed to post this but...
Here's a little preview video...
Ha! PS: I love your default. LOVE the two of them. Not threadjacking or anything.
How can anyone not love Chelsea & her little nugget??? Except those Jonas Brothers fans.
I really don't think Reba can be bad at anything. She sings, acts, dances, she's a comedienne.

Brody you are holding out on us. EXTORTIONIST!!!
I'm well aware of Reba's run in Annie Get Your Gun, but thanks for informing me of it nonetheless. I was confused because I thought NGD was saying Reba was somehow involved with "9 to 5." LoL
No, I was just saying that they can both get what they want without struggle hence 9to5 on the CMAs.
From a source, I heard that the big deal is that Nicole Kidman will be singing with her husband, Keith Urban.
No mention of ANY performance or appearance by Dolly and the 9 TO 5: The Musical cast/team.
That would make a little more sense...ugh oh well.
Awhh damn. Well lets continue the Reba love. Brody, I will name my first born child after you, in exchange for a good Reba in AGYG bootleg.
As much as I would like to see 9 TO 5 perform, the fact that Nicole is presenting (with Hugh Jackman) would lead one to think she might be performing with her husband. And that would be a big performance too. Regardless...I think I may have to tune in for opening performance.
Total threadjack here, but I love me some Reba!
