I'll be the dissenting opinion and say that I thought it was disappointing this year. Everything seemed horribly disorganized, especially the photo booth and it was particularly crowded in the afternoon. Of course, I was happy to participate regardless because the money is going to a great cause. I bought some playbills and took two celeb pics. I only spent $25 and last year I spent over $100.

It was my first time and it was great. I got a ten dollar Spelling Bee Playbill, three posters (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Laugh Whore and 60 years of Best Plays) for a buck each. I also bought the Standing Ovations 1 DVD for Twenty dollars. I won tickets to PHANTOM and THE TREATMENT after spending $37 on the TDF raffle. That’s a bit unfortunate though because I just saw THE TREAMENT on Wednesday and I can't go do to scheduling conflicts anyway, but I'm excited about PHANTOM. I bought two Flea Market posters and went to the celebrity table three times. I also entered the SPELLING BEE raffle but I’m a hundred percent certain I won’t win. That comes out to $175 ::cringes:: Well after years of being dragged to O-town and Usher appearances (and others) this was a good cleansing. Like a high colonic for my wallet.
I'll try and post some pictures later.
BJC899, how'd you get a backstage tour? Were they just selling the opportunity at their table? If so...how much did it cost?

It was $10 for the tour.

I had a great time overall, but I have to say that the autograph/picture areas really need to be more organized in the future. Perhaps it was the hour that I went, but there was no semblance of an actual line for most of the time. Orangeskittles can attest to this as well...
I just got back. This year was my first one. I bought a lot more stuff than I thought I would. I got:
a Spelling Bee Woe is Me photo
Playbill cards from 1990-1991
a DRS poster
a Movin Out poster
Little Women cast recording
an acting book
a t-shirt
A bag of POTO props including all the notes, an il muto program, and the auction catolougue
a set of small fine art prints
two Phantom of the Opera photos
one Chicago photo
The Producers suvonier program signed by Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick
Rent OBC playbill
Barbara Cook Mostly Sondheim Playbill
Once Upon a Mattress Revival OBC playbill
Les Mis 10th Anniversary
The Producers OBC
Victor/Victoria OBC
wooo. I bought all that and saw Martin Short Fame Becomes Me.

I went WILD:
I bought:
A DRS poster {w/ John and Norbert on it}
A Hairspray poster {which most of the cast at the table signed including Michelle Dowdy who is amazing}
A Good Vibrations poster {its a nice poster.}
An All Shook Up martini shaker {an opening night gift to the cast.}
A Dirty Rotten Scoundrels/Broadway Cares T-shirt
A picture of the RENT cast {featuring Jay and Joey}
A Putnam County backpack
2 Jersey Boys playbills
Sweet Charity cards {2 sets}
A Taboo sampler
A Drowsy Chaperone frisbee
A Women in White sampler, I "won" at the Spin A Chance Booth
Megan Hilty's bubbles.
And a hat from Broadway Bares
Sightings:
Bob Martin at the Drowsy booth, I got a picture with him.
Literally ran into Matthew Morrison, got a picture with him.
Hung out with the cast of HAIRSPRAY, and helped secure their things when the rain fell, I loved watching Lisa Jolley screaming "SAVE THE GOD DAMN PIES!" and sing Survivor by Destiny's Child opera-style.
Josh Strickland, Jenn Gambatese at The Tarzan table for a bit.
*If anyone saw a chubby kid running around in an ASU t-shirt with long green sleeved shirt underneath, that was me.*
{pictures to come in like 5.
I'm uploading them now.}

Disappointments:
No NAKED BOYS SINGING! table. Hence none of those naughty cookies!
No chili at the BEAUTY AND THE BEAST table. (I'd really been looking forward to it)
Got cut off from the Georgia Engel photo line because she had to run across the street for a matinee of DROWSY CHAPERONE. (My $10 was refunded)
When I had my photo taken with Josh Strickland, I offered him $50 if he'd take off his shirt for the photo. His hands went to the shirt but them he thought better of it and told me I'd have to see the show to see his pecs. (Dammit!)
Pleasures:
I had a nice visit with my former student Scott Nevins before he "went to work".
I got a kiss from Marin Mazzie.
Danny Burstein gave me a warm welcome.
Bebe Neuwirth and I had a great conversation about Carol Channing.
Received a great "buddy hug" from Patrick Wilson.
I think I saw you Clumsy, by the Hairspray table.

ILove, how much was the RENT OBC playbill?
Did they have many?
I bought it at the Hairsray table where all playbills were 6 for five dollars.
I was also a bit disappointed this year. Not nearly as many tables or unique items, at least for the shows I was looking for.

Here are few pictures. My camera is what they call in the business "a piece of cr*p", so the the quality is...lacking.
Edit: it didn't work...

I was carrying around a pink sweatshirt and wearing a brown tank top over a white one. I think you were looking through crew shirts of various shows.
I saw you too, Clumsy.
You said "Nice shirt" to me twice.

Oh. Were you wearing an ASU shirt?
I remember that.
I got surronded by Lestat fans at the Hairspray table at one point, I was alittle scared.

Last year we were inundated by all those IN MY LIFE promotional CD's. This year it was petitions to get the LESTAT CD released.
Hey Guys
Just wanted to say 'thank you' to everyone who came out in amazing support for BCEFA. It's always a blast to see you guys while hosting the celeb table.
I will tell you that many of the stars and I were talking about how inspiring it is to see how much so many of you love and support Broadway - it's really incredible, and you are the ones who keep Broadway alive and kicking!
I hope you all had fun and had a chance to meet everyone you were hoping to see - and I look forward to seeing you all next year.
Thanks again for your support of BCEFA

And it was great seeing you, Scott.
Was this the first time we'd talked without my assigning you to detention?

All my crap in picture form:
Ahhh Dollypop - I DO remember that from last year -- I believe I got about 7 In My Life demos and they're all buried in my room somewhere...

I have fun every year I go (this was my third time) but I felt this year was slightly dissapointing.
I bought two dvds of the Chatterbox, Seth's new book, and two show people magazines, both with those glorious legendary pictures of Raul Esparza!
