I have been in the process of starting a business where a Broadway actor goes to dinner with you before their show- this is an opportunity for aspiring actors to meet and chat with people currently at the top of their game. To ask tips, learn, or just find out what it's like to do 8 shows a week. I am looking for Beta tester groups. Each group must range from 3-6 people. Perfect for families who want their artistic child to meet a pro. The package includes a prix fixe menu from an Italian restaurant in midtown and a Broadway actor who is currently in a Broadway show. I was wondering if their would be any interest in this kind of service and if so reach out if you wanna be a beta tester! I will go over pricing and you can help me begin!! thank you so much in advance for your thoughts and time.

This is an intriguing idea, but my first question would have to be - why would an actor do it, especially on a show day? Do you have feedback from working professionals willing to participate?

What would this entail? I have a group of 3 college student/aspiring actors that would maybe interested in this for a beta group.

Just go to Kodama sushi, there are plenty of Broadway people that eat there.

This would be an intimate dining experience with a group of 3-6 people to just get to sit and break bread with a Broadway actor.

I have a bunch of Broadway actors who would love the opportunity to share their story and break bread with someone who would want the advice and has a passion for the craft. So often at the stage door you only get a second with each person who wants to say hi after a show. This would give families and aspiring actors the opportunity to sit down and inspire people who otherwise might not ever get the shot. The package would also include compensation for the service and the actors time.

Thank you so much for your response! Ideally, it would be nice to have at least one 21 and over guardian present in each group. I am currently finalizing pricing on the package. This price would include - dinner (tax and tip included) and the price for the service of bringing the actor in. I am trying to see since you would be a beta group if I can throw in something extra in return for letting me know how the experience went and what you might change or wish there was more of. If you are still interested let me know !

Discounted! This beta is for the service that connects actors with groups who want to have dinner with a Broadway actor before their show. Guests who are seeing a show that night and are going to go out to dinner anyway.
The experience will be at a discount and you would ultimately be paying for the bare bones -restaurant dinner and the actors time.
Ultimately, I am looking for a demographic who would be excited to sit down and hang out with a current Broadway actor. It cracks a door open so that aspiring actors and performers who may not otherwise have the ability to ask specific burning questions about the business are now able to do so over some pasta or linguini :)
Let me know if this service excites you and you would like to be a part of my test!

With all due respect, you're pitching this concept in the wrong place. Many of us do the above already AND no fee is involved.

Me and Tanya Pinkins at Mama's Restaurant in East Harlem. Make it so.
I thought most people with shows to do didn't eat before. But that's just one thing I've apparently already learned isn't true, thanks to this program.

I think it's a really cool idea and I'm sure it would be a big success for the fans/stage mothers depending on the cost.
I'm not sure what the performers are getting out of it though. It sounds like a fairly significant commitment for them given their schedules.

Your concept is interesting, but your business plan may be faulty. BW actors won't eat with your guests before a show. Maybe afterwards.

And the pricing will depend very much on the "marketability" of the actor. While I am sure there are many talented, eloquent and insightful actors in the chorus or in small parts with U/S possibilities, it may not be the experience that people will pay good money for. I hope I'm wrong - but people will look for value, which may or may not include name recognition.
Let us know how it goes!

Is location negotiable? I assume the "meal" part is mostly just in service to the meeting. I'd like to go to a Hookah bar with Christine Ebersole and Sydney Lucas.

How about coffee or wine during intermission?

When I used to provide a service similar to this they had a different name for it.
And let me tell you, it ain't easy!
