Directed by David Lee. Good cast!
The cast will be led by Broadway alums Merle Dandridge (The Last of Us, Once on this Island) as Desirée Armfeldt, Michael Hayden (Murder One, Carousel) as Fredrik Egerman, and Jodi Long (Dash &Lily, Flower Drum Song) as Madame Armfeldt. Also starring will be Broadway's Sarah Uriarte Berry (Les Misérables) as Countess Charlotte Malcolm, Chase Del Rey (King Richard) as Henrik Egerman, Adam James King (In The Heights) as Frid, Broadway's Ruby Lewis (Cirque du Soleil Paramour) as Petra, Broadway's Ryan Silverman (Side Show) as Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm, and Broadway's Kaley Ann Voorhees (Prince of Broadway) as Anne Egerman.
Another ALNM happening around the same time: a concert production at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto, with Eric McCormack as Fredrik, Cynthia Dale as Desiree, and Chilina Kennedy as Charlotte.

Merle Dandridge is going to be gorgeous as Desiree. She could sing me the phonebook. Ermengarde, thank you for the head's up about the Toronto concert. May have to check that out.

Saw this earlier in the week and it was truly divine. Only a few shows left! Dandridge should be a huge star. Her "Send in the Clowns" was devastating.
The sound overall was breathtaking. Flawless full orchestra (which is finally revealed to the audience at the top of Act 2), gorgeous voices. Sarah Uriarte Berry steals her scenes as Charlotte, but there are no weak links. Just when you've forgotten Petra exists, Ruby Lewis delivers a "Miller's Son" that shakes the rafters. Jodi Long is hilarious as Madame Armfeldt. Ryan Silverman is a silver-voiced buffoon as Carl-Magnus, and Kaley Ann Voorhees is a a riot as Anne.
"Weekend in the Country" was thrilling. Just a huge treat to see a first class production of this show. If you're in the area, there are four shows left this weekend!
Is Pasadena doing this with a sizeable orchestra?

According to the show program, it's a 22 piece orchestra performing the show's original orchestrations.
It’s a fabulous production. The entire cast is perfection . Pasadena playhouse has been hitting home runs lately . BTW.. the gentleman who plays the en is gorgeous.
Agreed - a terrific season for the Pasadena Playhouse which I think is partly why they just won the Regional Tony Award. Next season doesn't look quite as promising (I don't know who was begging for a new production of JELLY'S LAST JAM?) but this production, their SUNDAY with Graham Philips and SANCTUARY CITY were excellent this year.
Terrific production. Lush and beautiful. The entire cast was majestic. And Chase Del Rey as Henrick was very easy on the eye. I disagree about Jelly's Last Jam. I enjoy the show and can't wait to see what they do with it.
Just saw the final performance and it is easily one of, if not the best production of a musical I’ve ever seen at this venue. Perfection across the board…and 22 musicians in the orchestra!
Merle Dandridge’s “Send In the Clowns” was achingly beautiful.
