Out of curiosity, I searched Carly Rae Jepsen + dancing on YouTube and found videos from when she judged "So You Think You Can Dance." In the interviews, she says that she doesn't dance and doesn't really know anything about dancing. She also claimed she has no personal skill as a dancer.
So...would they re-work the choreography in the show for her? Is that something they typically do for stunt-casted replacements who don't have the requisite skill set?

...no.
Cinderella only dances in one scene, and it isn't that much...

She dances in two scenes - once with the villagers and the lengthy ball scene (with multiple lifts), but okay, thanks.

She might actually be good. It's good to se the pop stars go outside of there comfort zones.

Honestly, I initially was not on board with this casting choice, and I'm still on the fence. But, I wish both Carly and Fran all the best. Maybe Carly will end up surprising us. I have been witness to seeing a "name" in a role a few times. Sometimes they are horrendous (Molly Ringwald butchering Sweet Charity) and other times they are surprisingly good (Diana Degarmo in both Hairspray and 9 to 5). So let's give Carly the benefit of the doubt, let her show us what she's got, and then make your own judgements. With that said, can we skip ahead a few months? I'm now interested to hear the casting decisions for the upcoming tour.

eh ok I seriously thought this was a joke. Lucky the understudy will be taking the reins for so many performances! Will catch one of those.

I don't understand the decision to cast Carly, financial motivations aside. However, I don't believe that the producers would put someone up there who would make a fool of herself ... and them. Maybe they know something (or many things) that I don't. I'll have to reserve judgement and give Carly a chance.

I have to say she looks stunning in the ball dress. I had to look closer because I thought it was Laura at first

She'll be on GMA (I think) on Monday to perform In My Own Little Corner

She is actually VERY pretty without those awful bangs! I'm wishing her all the best and hope she proves to be a surprise talent.

She will in fact be on GMA Monday, she's performing live as well as a somewhat lengthy behind the scenes segment of her preparing for the role.

She comes off as if she's about 16. And in my opinion that's a GOOD thing. Something about a 30+ year old as Cinderella just seems wrong to me -- as much as I LOVE Laura Osnes. Now as long as they recast the Prince so he doesn't seem like a pedophile.
