Lainie did one day (2 performances).
Linda Gerard did like 5-6 performances as Barbra’s standby.
Barbra did NOT just miss “one day.”
There is nothing about the A, B, C system in Barbra’s book.
Is this because she knows it would reflect poorly on her? Seems like an important, and very interesting, thing to leave out.

Barbra left out a lot of stuff from her book and gave herself credit on countless things she did not do. Anyone taking her memoir as the genuine source of all things Barbra will be shocked if they did a fact check on her claims. Even her claims of thinking up the rolling chair for “Miss Marmelstein” are erroneous as many have confirmed Barry Dennen was the one who suggested it to her in the first place.
“I believe in truth”, she says, and that her whole motivation in writing this book was to act as a record of facts. Oh well, Barbra, you tried.

She also states that all those other biographies are full of lies yet if you do a back-to-back comparison with her memoir, she literally rehashes the same info in her memoir that is written in those biographies. I’m more amazed on how those past biographies obtained those detailed facts on her life decades before this memoir.

Barbra has claimed she only missed one day. That isn't true, as you point out, but you can't blame folks for believing the lie.
To be fair, “lie” might be a bit strong. It was nearly sixty years ago, maybe she just misremembered.

Still, compared to nowadays, that is pretty amazing.
Back on topic.
Barbra Streisand is receiving this award, in part, for her humanitarian accomplishments. Here are some of them. She is truly worthy of this honor.

Who wants to work at an airport check-in desk when one can relax in the executive suite? There are those who are destined to be worker bees, grinding out performances night after night for a bunch of yahoos, and those who have received the calling for greater things. Destiny has indeed shown its light on Ms. Streisand throughout the years, but she was always prepared for the opportunities, backed up by an unearthly talent.
