So I entered the virtual lotto for tonight's performance. However, considering my not so good track record of winning tickets through it, it left me with a question.
If I don't get tickets via the virtual lotto, how soon can I go to the Delecort to pick up a ticket for tonight? I know they do the virtual lotto and start handing out tickets in the park at noon, but do they continue to give them out during the course of the day or do I have to return and wait in the standby line?
They distribute them throughout the day. The Public posted on their Facebook yesterday that they still had tickets around 4:45.
This is just my opinion, but I think demand was low for last night because it was the first preview and the weather was forecast to be lousy.
If you really want to be proactive about it, you don't have to wait to see if you've won or lost the vurtual lottery to get on line. Assuming you can check your e-mail from your smartphone, when you get confirmation that you've won, just leave the line and go have some lunch.
One BW poster said that he loved the show last night. If others confirm that impression, tickets will be a lot harder to come by!
With some exceptions, the first week or two is usually a cakewalk. Especially for a production that doesn't really have any marquee names. I imagine you will be able to get tickets right up to curtain tonight.
They have an allotment to be given out at 12pm. Once those tickets are distributed, I believe they give the next batch of people on the line (if there are any remaining) a reserved spot in the cancellation line and are told to return later in the evening. Later that night when the cancellation line begins to form those people are placed at the head of the line and anyone who comes waits behind them. I think this is 50 people who are allowed up to two tickets each. Tickets are then distributed to the cancellation line as they become available, but it's been my experience that that distribution tends to take place near curtain. Everyone on the regular cancellation line, without a reserved spot from having waited earlier in the day is entitled to one ticket.
As macnyc mentioned above, last night's performance had availability right up until curtain and there were plenty of empty seats last night, but that can easily be attributed to the weather throughout the day and leading right up to the performance.
Was anyone on line today? I imagine with the beautiful weather, there was quite a demand for tix.
Won the virtual lotto on Saturday night. Great show, great cast, and the weather was beautiful. Also, we sat in the second row, so that was pretty amazing. I was very impressed with everyone's performances - especially Hamish. He stole the show.
I got on the standby line around 5:45 today and was somewhere between 30-35 in line. They kept saying at about 7:30 the first batch of tickets would be distributed (if they had any). By about 7:30 the line grew to well over 100 people. Sure enough around 7:40 they started distributing tickets and I got in with no problem. I ran to get food and got back around 8:20 and saw no standby line, this lead me to assume that everyone in the standby line got in. The weather was absolutely gorgeous today so the time flew! Hope this helps!
