Just bought a "ticket" to stream BJJ's Gloria after the run got cut short. A great idea and glad they were able to act so quickly to do something to raise funds and make art available during this crisis. In my case, they're getting revenue from an East Coaster they never would have otherwise.
If you'd like to buy a ticket to watch either, here's the link.
Now I just need an Unknown Soldier stream!

I got the notice from ACT and was pleased, because I have heard nothing but good things about Gloria and had planned to see it in person. I'm waiting for my wife to return before checking it out.

I would hope Broadway will do something similar for Plaza Suite and especially the musical The Bedwetter. It would also give people not in the New York area the opportunity to see them (They won't be flying in).Otherwise, I'm afraid, both will disappear forever.

This is sort of a separate discussion, but my assumption with shows that have not yet started performances is that many will simply be postponed. Especially at nonprofits, where they can simply add something like The Bedwetter to their next season.

#8Berkeley Rep offer for School Girls
Posted: 3/22/20 at 2:05amThe Berkeley Rep is offering School Girls on the BroadwayHD platform. For whatever reason, the deadline is midnight West Coast time tonight (or 3 am East Coast time). I don’t know why the artificial deadline. I ordered School Girls a few minutes ago. I haven’t ordered the ACT plays yet because I have a little more time.

As someone who's worked in administration at a major NFP theater, I can tell you that it's not as easy as shifting a show to next season if a production is suspended or canceled. You need to ensure that the cast and creative team are going to be available when the production is rescheduled -- or you need to be able to move forward with new people, which is its own hassle. It's not as simple as moving something from column A to column B.

Has anyone received their link to view this yet? I purchased a ticket last Friday and it said we should get the link the next day...
Just seeing if I'm alone.

I was wondering the same thing. (Could've gone to junk mail folder, but I'm pretty good at monitoring that too)

I bought my ticket over the weekend and haven't gotten anything yet. It did say "a week," so I wonder if it's not something they could automate and some poor staffer working from home has to go through and process these themselves?

ACT's website is now advertising that you'll receive your video link within 24 hours of making a donation, and that productions will be streamable through April 5.
I made donations for both GLORIA and TONI STONE eight days ago and still haven't received a link for either.
Obviously this is a crazy time for the company, but they do still need to follow through on their promises. Let's see if links are sent out by the end of the business week...

#18ACT plays, Berkeley Rep offer for School Girls

I ordered Gloria last night and received the link today. I have to set things up on my television to watch it. (The play is also available on an app.) It's on Vimeo.
I also got a link today to the play I ordered last week from the Berkeley Rep, School Girls, or The African Mean Girls Play. It is on BroadwayHD, and you get a 30-day free tryout to see other recorded shows. I'll try to set that one up to watch on our television.
Both plays must be watched by early April. Gloria must be viewed by April 5, School Girls by April 8.
For everyone not from the San Francisco Bay Area, it's a a chance to catch these plays. ACT also has a play, Toni Stone, that had Opening Night and then closed. I can't vouch for the quality of the recordings yet, as I just got the emails.

Was quite impressed with Gloria. For those of us who remember Eric Ting's excellent Octoroon at Berkeley Rep, (an improvement on the SoHo Rep production imo) it seems he has quite the knack for directing Branden Jacobs-Jenkins.

The ACT production of GLORIA was impressive. Just watched tonight. The video quality is decent. Very TOFT at the Lincoln Center, maybe a step below. Don't except PBS quality, but it is watchable.
With that being said, so happy they did this and glad I was able to support!

I finally got my links yesterday and watched GLORIA last night. I agree that it is well shot, though not what you'd expect for a commercial release (which, of course, this isn't).
In general, I found the acting and direction less impressive than in the New York production. (The actors who played Gloria/Nan and Miles were particularly weak IMO.) But I was grateful for the chance to see the play again, which I think is superb.
Will watch TONI STONE (which I missed at Roundabout) tonight.
