I *think* this may be just for BU students and faculty, but according to a calender or events I received, at 8:30 pm on March 31st, there will be "An Evening w/ Adam Pascal of RENT." No details as to where on campus or who can attend. If I go, I'll post a review! Anyone else planning on attending?
"We like to snark around here. Sometimes we actually talk about theater...but we try not to let that get in our way." - dramamama611
Adam attended Syosset High School in New York, and went on to the University of Southern Florida for the first year of college. He then went to the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) for the remaining three years. He majored in Communications and worked with TV and film.
He's not speaking, he's singing. Doors open at 8:30, show begins at 9. And yes, it's only open to BU students, faculty, etc. I e-mailed the Office of Student Activities, and they told me that if I went with a BU student who had a valid ID, and there were seats left after BU people have gotten priorit, they would let me in. I asked if I perhaps I were to call the day before, they would be able to tell me what my chances were depenging on how many tickets were left, but since it's free, they're not selling tickets in advance, they're just letting people in as they come when the doors open. That means they won't know until right before the show begins if non-BU students can get in. They were nice, but not all that informative. I was going to head up to see him, because I'm dying to see him on stage again, but I don't want to take a trip for nothing.
Anyway, according to Sh-k-Boom's website, he's going to be doing some "touring" in the Spring. So, yay for more concerts.
To Millie and any other lovely BWW BU students, it's a *free concert* so you should GO!! If you go, please post about it and take lots of pictures for me.
Well, I said this on the OT board, but as soon as I found out about this, I talked to some friends who go to college in the area--2 go to BU and one already said I could definitely stay w/ her and she would come w/ me and we were getting really excited planning out our weekend, I have another friend at BU and another at Brandeis so I would hopefully see them too...so then I found out I may not get in, but since we already planned out the weekend anyway, I'm still going to go up and will hopefully get in. Will take lots of pictures and post long review as usual if I'm successful.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
I'm making one of my BU friends take me (or at least try to).
Idina: Somehow I got myself to the stage, came out at the end of the show, and I had some kind of closure.
Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH!

oh my god!! ok, so if i'm accepted already for next year (which i am) can i go?! omg i'd love to go! It would give me an excuse to go up to Boston again.
Go to Sh-k-Boom.com and click the news/buzz link. Scroll down a little and you'll see his name. There's no definite information as of yet.
God DAMN my college for not having the money for this. I really, really, really hope they're not all exclusive like this, because I will go crazy.
I will have second thoughts about whether or not to go until the night of the 31st. I'll be like "oh, well, if I go, then at least I tried... at least I have a change." *goes nuts* Chances are I'll sit this one out.
Anyway, someone give him a big hug for me. :) I think one of you really nice people should call me and hold the phone so I can hear.
If he plays at NYU before I get there in the fall, I might just cry.
Just to let anyone who cares know: He apparently just announced on his MySpace that he'll be playing at the NACA Conference in Boston on February 20th. Updated On: 1/17/06 at 07:03 PM
It's myspace.com/adampascal. I don't think he's the usual maintainer (as he alluded to in his blog post), but he apparently wrote the blog that was posted today.
Yeah, in the post today he made it somewhat clear that someone just showed him how to post that blog and that's the extent of what he's done with his MySpace page.
