I have to be in the city the week of September 15. I have a entire week open with nothing to see. I have seen everything left running from the previous season. Might return to Death Becomes Her. ART does not seem to have performances that week or are not selling them. I am considering these two off broadway options. Except for another thread that went off the rails I have not been able to find anything with a consensus on these two peices. Opinions anyone? Also.. any suggestions on something I might have overseen for that week? (not interested in the new Phantom)

i've been looking into www.bullplaynyc.com -- i think it opens later that week
Of those two options, I highly suggest and even recommend Prince F*ggot. Drunk Shakespeare is a fun time to relive college days and let your hair down, but Prince F actually left me with something to think about.

I agree with THDavis, I found Prince F really thought provoking and gave me something to chew on, and my only regret in seeing it was that I didn't go with a friend with whom I could talk it over afterwards.
Drunk Shakespeare is a great show and a lot of fun if you just want to laugh. It pokes a lot of fun at Romeo and Juliet but also delivers some surprisingly good (considering the premise) performances of excerpts of the actual Shakespeare text.
Separately, I think both Punch and Godot will have just started performances on Broadway if you're interested in either of those. The Other Americans at the Public (a John Leguizamo show) could also be good

Do you want something challenging and thought provoking, or do you want something that fun and silly? Drunk Shakespeare is a fun time. It moves at a brisk pace, it involves a lot of improv, and is a good time. Prince F*ggot is going to be something to take in, think about, and consider the implications of. It really depends on what kind of night you want.
Those Prince F*ggot tickets look really expensive.
Is it worth that kind of money?
There are $70 tickets available, it's not that expensive compared to a lot of shows right now.
I guess it’s just at the two nights I looked at .
