Check on broadwayunderstudies.com -- they often know.
However, it is uncommon for actors to take time off near the holidays....but you just never know.
Of course, there is always the possibility of last minute illness, too.

I've seen just about every role except for Whatsername and Extraordinary Girl understudied, and I've never been disappointed. They've actually enhanced the show in some cases.

Posted: 12/12/10 at 3:14pmI have a friend that saw Corbin as Whatsername and she was great. Also, Van Hughes is great at all of the leads he stands by for, and so are the understudies for the three.

Posted: 12/12/10 at 7:22pmI have seen Van as both Johnny and Tunny and he is phenomenal. Declan Bennett as Will was amazing as well. I've seen Leslie and Libby for Heather and Corbin as Whatshername. I was blown away by Corbin.

Van's Johnny is incredible- he fits that role so well. I saw his first performance in the role (which was only his 2nd time ever in the show) and he was great then, but then I saw him in the role again a couple months later and he was even more impressive. I also was lucky enough to see Christina as Whatsername, Libby as the Extraordinary Girl, and Ben as Tunny in the same performance and they were all amazing. Libby and Leslie are also both great as Heather. The show really does have one of the strongest understudy set-ups I've ever seen.

Posted: 12/13/10 at 12:59amI've also seen a few understudies in this show and they've all been excellent. I saw Van Hughes as Johnny, Declan Bennett as Will, and Corbin Reid as Whatsername the last time I saw the show and all three of them were great. I've also seen Leslie McDonel go on as Heather twice and I liked her more than Mary Faber. All of the swings are excellent as well.

Posted: 12/13/10 at 10:53amI take back what I previously said. Jeanna de Waal starts tomorrow. Van Hughes and Leslie McDonel are on vacation this week but they'll be back by the 20th, I believe.

So does this mean if John Gallagher Jr. is out we could see Chase Peacock on for Johnny?
And does anyone know who is replacing Josh Kobak as a swing?
