Ramin will be great, but I also hope they've done the necessary rewrites, because not even Ramin could make the material that Mano was given work.

For a second I thought he was replacing Klena and was incredibly sad. This is great casting indeed. Nice to see Ramin tackle new roles!

Neon, I agree with you.  I am hoping the Gleb role and story line has been improved since Hartford.  That was the weakest part of the story/book in my opinion (and from the reviews, it appears I was not alone in feeling that way).  

But I do think Ramin Karimloo has all the tools to knock this out of the park.  I think he is capable of masking some of the flaws.

so happy. he definitely has the physicality and the charm to do this role justice (hopefully there will be some rewrites for his character though).

You're certainly not alone. Everyone I spoke to (several of my friends and colleagues) felt the same way about the Gleb character and storyline.

I adore Karimloo, but must admit I had the same first thought as Kad. I wonder if they're revising the book to make his role a bit more substantial (meaning a possibility for a Featured Actor nomination).

He's never originated a role in a new musical on Broadway. I imagine that's appealing. Also, Gleb is the villain.

Exactly, he is still only known really for two roles. He has long wanted to branch out and i think he has realised that the music and hollywood route maybe wasnf going to work out so has returned more to where he is known and loved. Sadly another year or so away from his family

Is there any legal footage of the tryout? I mean a trailer or something? Couldnt find anything on you tube

Well, the only main character who isn't cast is the Dowager Empress. Sucks so much that Angela Lansbury is retiring
