That's good to hear, Mimi. Maybe those photos were just badly lit or something.

At the risk of inviting a torrent of ridicule, I'll admit I watched him on DANCING WITH THE STARS and I thought he looked fine then.

Please let us know what you think of him in the show.

The pictures probably don't capture him in his best light, but I would imagine the excessive drug use did age him a bit. Good on him for getting clean and starting over.

Speaking of finances, I'm sure Mr. Carter could earn more money from a tour of 3,000 seat houses in Florida. At least in theory; I suppose such a tour could also earn him a rep for playing to half-empty houses.

But appearing in the New York City area keeps him in the press where he may be noticed by theater/film/TV professionals who can afford him other opportunities.

You all know he went to Rehab this year, right? It's all over the internet and was heavily publicized. His drug abuse is well known.

Yes, I knew that. But the internet sources I found say he went to rehab to "explore his emotional and spiritual sides."

Since everything that is printed on the internet is true, I assume that means no drug use was involved.

Yeah because the Betty Ford Clinic is for "emotional and spiritual exploration."

Aaron Carter's been in rehab twice for "addiction" and appeared on Celebrity Rehab 2.

Aaron also claims publically and in interviews that Michael Jackson gave him cocaine when he was 15.

Well I give him credit for playing at the Snapple Theatre. He is not to proud to work. I wish him all the best in getting back on track.

Well, I saw the FANTASTICKS yesterday and unfortunately, Aaron was pretty rough. The rest of the cast were a talented lot and he was completely out of his league. Had he been at his local high school it would have been a rough performance. His presence doesn't seem to be doing much for crowds either, Sunday matinee and it was a little under 1/3 full.

Thanks for your feedback, WorkerBee! Any more details you can give on his performance? By "rough" do you mean that his voice was bad, or he forgot his lines, etc.?

Yes, vocally he was way off mark. Aside from the pitch problems his quality reminded me of someone who can't sing and has spent years going to vocal lessons. It was just rough. Very breathy, vibrato that had a life of it's own (sometimes he controlled it, sometimes he didn't, and sometimes it just disappeared mid note). He did fine on remembering lines, choreography, blocking, etc. and had a couple of good moments but otherwise . . . I kind of felt sorry for him and for the rest of the cast. You kind of want to go in and enjoy how much of a car accident it was but I left feeling kind of sorry for everyone involved (Aaron included). It was like watching a disabled person struggle. I wish him the best and hope he finds whatever path he moves onto next, but musical theatre isn't it.

Ouch. (Not that you were being unkind, WorkerBee. But those don't sound like problems that will be fixed by a few weeks' experience in the part.)

Yes, thank you very much for your detailed report, WorkerBee! It's a shame that Aaron Carter's voice isn't up to the task. I'm looking forward to seeing this great show again but I am not looking forward to squirming in my seat as Aaron Carter tries to get through the songs. Nothing worse than watching someone struggle like that.

I saw the show last Friday and HATED aaron carter. His voice and acting were awful. I felt really sorry for the actor (who's name escapes me) currently playing the Mute, who played Matt before Carter came in. Anyway, loved the cast except for Aaron. IMO he was horrible.
