13 year old me would be super excited with these news.
Aaron Carter Joins The Cast Of THE FANTASTICKS
do they allow lip-syncing in The Fantasticks??
I hope he doesn't still look like a total meth-head like he did on that HOUSE OF CARTER show (or whatever it was called). I won't begin to judge how he sounds since I haven't heard a note of his music since his preteen days.

finally might go see the show....
Great choice! He certainly looks perfect to play Matt. I hope he will boost the box office of this wonderful and timeless musical.
I'm thrilled that he decided to make a leap into musical theatre.

I love this sentence in the article:
"He succeeds Matt Leisy, who will remain with the company in the role of The Mute."
What a lovely way to say "Mr. Leisy was brusquely shoved aside in favor of the bigger box office draw."
That article belongs in "The Onion". I think this is just weird. I mean, he isn't really a name with current tweens. I know they're trying to boost box office, but he's just an odd choice. I'm not dogging his ability, just a bit mystified by his casting.

I'm not sure where the show plays now, but the Sullivan Street playhouse was so small, Aaron Carter wouldn't have to sell many tickets each week to boost box office significantly. It's not like he has to sell out the Palace.

I won tickets to the show at this year's Flea Market!! I spun the wheel and it actually landed on tickets twice.... well... I gotta see this now!! :) Curious to see if he's any good or not.... hm....
This is the scariest part of that article:
A limited number of premium front row seats are available for each performance priced at $126.50.
^That should provide a nice cushion for the next few years.

What is he on? I'm sorry, but he doesn't look good for a 24-year-old.
Well, folks, that's what cocaine will do to you.
He looks awful. Hopefully his voice is still okay.
I wonder what he's getting paid for this. Can't be too much.
Those Seussical clips are hysterical. I know he was just a kid, but the way he narrates the song with his arms is pretty hilarious. I wonder if he'll be bringing that technique to The Fantasticks.

...He's climbing in your windows, snaching your people up...
That's not age. I don't know what's up but his health is definitely effected by something other than natural causes. He looks way too old and gaunt for a 24-year-old. If you Google photos of him, you'll see him go from fresh-faced kid, to teen heartthrob, and then a sudden jump to middle age. It's kinda frightening.
God! Bless his heart! I hate even mentioning it. It seems shallow and awful and it shouldn't impair his talent (I hope), but he's really lookin' bad. Poor guy. I don't know what he's done, but there's simply no need for someone that young to look that weathered.
I actually saw him in the elevator of the Snapple Theater yesterday. Other than looking very thin, I thought he looked quite good. He's extremely tall, which surprised me for some reason. Anyway, I hope to hear some reviews of his performance, as I'm seeing the show in December.
