I've seen 17 shows this year. 9 actually, just repeated a couple multiple times. I feel like I've seen all the shows I REALLY had a desire to see. I've seen...
Hairspray 5 times*
The Wedding Singer 4 times*
Spring Awakening 2 times*
Rent*
The Producers
Mamma Mia
Tarzan
Beauty and the Beast*
Wicked
I starred the ones I loved. That may seem pointless, but I was hoping based on your guys experience and that info, some of you could tell me whether I should see Spamalot or Avenue Q next time I'm in the city in two weeks. Thanks!
Avenue Q! you'll love it

Avenue Q. Definitely. Absolutely. It's the best.
Avenue Q is waaaaay better than Spamalot. Go see Q and rent Monty Python & the Holy Grail on DVD and then you'll have basically seen both!
Hairspray again! Just kidding. I'd definitely go with Avenue Q.

Once you've seen Avenue Q, you can officially say that your life is complete.
Nobody should die without seeing Avenue Q.
Oh, SNL media, I'll def. be seeing Hairspray again, but probably in the summer when the movie comes out. I love Blake from AI too!
I'll see almost anything over "Spamalot".
"Avenue Q" without a doubt.

Although Spamalot is fantastic, Avenue Q is 1,000 times better!
Avenue Q...without a doubt.
I have a feeling people here are biased towards Ave Q...not saying they are wrong or anything, but go with something you think you would like better. To give you an idea:
Would you rather see a big, flashy musical with big numbers and it is just plain fun and supposedly hilarious?
Then see Spamalot.
Or do you want to see a funny, lighthearted, charming musical that is more intimate and not as flashy?
Then see Avenue Q.

To play devil's advocate, you should probably see Spamalot before it closes. It will definitely be closing before Avenue Q and that might be very soon if sales don't pick up. I'd say you have at least a year to see Q if not much more.

Um, Spamalot ain't going anywhere anytime soon. It grossed over 90% in the past week and has been doing exceptionally well.

No matter how you look at it, Avenue Q is the better show. Spamalot is way overrated in my opinion. So see Q!

I would choose Spamalot. Just a fun show, with a score I love. You'll have to make the choice for yourself.
Obviously, I am in the majority here, but I would choose Avenue Q. I HATED Spamalot. It has a medicore score and is just one stupid joke after another...
Well that's a little immature, isn't it CATS?
yes. it was very immature, but it was funnier before you edited your post...

i havent seen Avenue Q yet, but id still say go with that, because Spamalot let me down hard, i was looking forward to it so much and i was amazed at how much i did not like it. wierd part is, i love monty python and the holy grail, but i cant stand Spamalot.
I have not seen Avenue Q yet, so I would not be the best judge for this matter. However, I thought Spamalot was excellent both of the two times that I saw it. Unfortunately, both of the times I saw it, most of the original cast was in it, so I do not really have knowledge of the current cast. Still, it's funny no matter who is in it.

The current cast of Spamalot is fantastic.
I've seen Spamalot twice and Avenue Q once. While I loved both, I say go see Spamalot.
