Hi, there.
I'm a broke student looking for some way to see the first preview of SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK on Sunday night. The discount codes out there don't apply to this performance, but I can't quite afford full price.
Does anyone have any secrets? Or any indication of a student rush policy? Or any indication that it might be on TKTS that night. Or a spare pair they need to unload?
Anyone with any info, let me know...
Keep checking TDF...

Ya think? I've been checking.
Someone said they thought it was unlikely for TDF since producers for such an expensive show (a la YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN) wouldn't want to give off the illusion of being financially weak enough to offer tickets at such a steep discount.
I keep praying...
Does anyone know what time the box office opens on Sunday? I haven't had any luck finding out online and considered going there to see if there's any rush policy.
You can probably see most of it for free Sunday shortly after the curtain comes down. Oh, did you mean LIVE?
As much as I hope it might pop up on TDF (and I check it several times a day), I am doubting that it will. When I checked Ticketmaster yesterday, it looked like there were still a bunch of great seats for next Wednesday night, so I am thinking I may just print the discount code and hit the box office later today or tomorrow.
Can't wait to hear first preview thoughts on Sunday night!
I wouldn't count on TDF, but based on a ticketmaster search, Sunday evening's preview is nowhere near sold out, so I would almost bet that it will be at TKTS.

What is the discount they have going on for it?

I've heard a rumor that at the 1st preview, only the first act will be staged in full---And that act 2 will be performed "concert style", with the cast lined up at the front of the stage.
I have no idea if this is true or not...Has anyone else heard this?
Was just talking to a friend who is a concierge. He just got a request for Sunday's performance and he said he was able to get "flying circle" seats but other seats were spread out because they are honoring past tickets.
anyone know any promotions or codes for Spidey?
There's one listed on Broadwaybox.com but unfortunately it's not valid for the first preview performance.

The box office opens at noon on Sunday.Check for a rush when they open. I know they plan on doing a rush, but I do not know if they will begin this Sunday or not.

So would that make Spider-Man the first musical to open with only one fully-staged act?
That's just a rumor. An untrue one. If the show weren't fully staged, it wouldn't begin performances.

Total nonsense. Probably started by Jordan C on this board...

I hope it's nonsense, as I have tickets for Sunday. But it wouldn't be unprecedented to begin previews with an unfinished show. As I remember it, The Lion King, when it was out of town, started previews with an unfinished 2nd act.
Aida in Atlanta, with its famous malfunctioning pyramid set, would often perform the show in a concert version.
Tom Sawyer, out of town, discovered that it's Broadway sets wouldn't fit into their theatre, so they performed there without the set.
By the way, I have a friend of a friend in the show, who says it's going to be amaaaaazing...but that it might take a while to get through it on Sunday.
Hey Bailey, I don't start rumors. Now in the spirit of the holiday season, go fvck yourself.

Hey Jordan-
I heard a rumor that you are an evil scumbag. Any truth?
No, Miss Taymor. There's no truth to that. I just don't put up with annoying Twats like yourself.

I thought it was just a rumor. But why capitalize twat?
Julie, Julie, Julie, shouldn't you be finishing act 2?
For 60+ mil it better be more then amazing! It had better be orgasm inducing!

Uh oh...Tag-teamed by the arachnaphobes! Or however you spell that....
Don't know if this is accurate, but a Ticketmaster rep told me the box office is closed Sundays and won't be open until an hour before the performance tomorrow (5:30 for the 6:30 curtain). There's no rush policy at this time and tickets are currently sold out (she said there's always the chance a few singles may pop up online later, though).
