It was announced almost a year ago here http://www.broadway.com/buzz/180704/gabeys-comin-on-the-town-will-launch-national-tour-starring-tony-nominee-tony-yazbeck/ but dates have not been announced as of yet.

Gavin Creel and Jared Gertner in Mormon. (Or, more accurately, Jared was the replacement, since he replaced Josh Gad, then went to the 1NT, and Gavin originated on the 1NT before they both went to London.)

I know Gavin Lee did the opposite- he played Bert in Mary Poppins in London and then came over and did it on broadway. Also, Trevor Dion Nicholas has been the standby Genie in Aladdin on Broadway for about a year and now he's going to open the show in London"
Gavin lee originated Bert in the west end.

Yes I know he did. He originated the role in London and then came over and originated in the US as well. I know he originated in both places even though Alfie is only originating one, but it is still think it's an applicable example.

The original question that started this conversation was asking specifically about REPLACEMENTS who went on to originate the role across the pond. If we were to name people who originated their role in both places like Gavin Lee, we could go on listing them for weeks. Happens all the time.

Ah I see. I thought it was open for both examples. Got it sorry.

If I remember correctly, Da'Vine Joy Randolph was put into GHOST in the West End for about a month or so before coming to the U.S to open the show.

As much as I adore Alfie, I seriously can't see him in anything but Les Mis. And since every time I've gone to see him in Les Mis, he's been sick, I literally can't imagine him even touching the stage.
Alfie is such a sweet heart, and he's a stunning vocalist, but acting? I don't personally see it. I'd be more okay with a gamble like Chris Pine, who at least would have been entertaining.

Hmmmm...I'll be very interested to hear reviews of how Boe does in the role. As many people have stated, his acting is alittle bit wooden, but hopefully his vocals will supplement the acting. I'm still shocked this is still on Broadway...

I understand the wooden-acting complaints, but having seen him as Rodolfo in La Boheme as well as Les Miz gives me a little hope. I had said that only casting someone I love would get me back to FN again, and, well..! Ha.

Alfie retweeted this, so it does look like he's going to Neverland beginning March 29.

I feel like it's expected that I know who this person is, but I never heard the name before it was plastered across Les Miz ads like he was Hugh Jackman or Denzel or something

Well he doesn't need to worry about growing a beard.
^ I think he's more famous in the UK, it feels like he has been in Les Miz here forever.

Why wouldn't the Genie who won a Tony cross the pond?

It's officially official. And Sally Ann Triplett is joining the show as well.

I didn't think I could hate this show and it's casting more than I did when it started. I was wrong.

Yet here it is almost a year later and still ticking despite the naysayers.

I have been a supporter of the show, but I'm not really digging this casting. And now that Kelsey Grammer's leaving soon, I really am starting to fade in interest of this show. It is fun, but really needs a strong two leads to anchor it or else it is only so-so. I wish it luck though.

I didn't even realize Alfie was still in Les Miz. Does he ever show up to work?
