Cabaret: Wilkommen!
Emcee
Life Is a Cabaret
Although CABARET was definitely the best choice.
-----------------------------------------------
May I say that Emcee is a pretty bad title for Cabaret. The show is an ensemble piece and as important as the MC is, according to a wonderful book about Hal Prince by an author whose name I have forgotten, only appears on stage for 33 minutes and 51 seconds. Sally Bowles, Frau Schinder, Cliff, among others are in the show far more.

jv92-
That was just an idea thrown out there. And anyways, I think that Emcee may not be the "main character" in the show, but he is the glue that holds everything together. Have you seen the original playbill? It was the Emcee, the show's most twisted and cynical character. He's the heart of the musical, to me. So, I really do feel like calling the musical "EMCEE" would work because it is such a metaphor of Hitler and the period.
