Very exciting news! EXCELLENT song!
<----- back on Broadway? Wheeeee!
Maybe if Fela! doesn't run too long, it could move into the O'Neil.

Is there anything to go into the Nederlander? I think it could have a life there...

Yes, there is something going to The Nederlander in the spring.
And, as Samix pointed out. You can't just shove a musical into any theatre. It has to be the right one to fit the set etc.
I think that he mentioned this after Tking suggested that with the early closer of Oleanna that American Idiot take the Golden.

Golden is too small for American Idiot. THey are looking for a bigger space (1100+)
Oh, I know. I think that he was just pointing out that there are some people on here who are under the impression that you can just put any show in any theatre without realizing that not all shows are right for all theatres.

the cast member I was talking to remarked how the show doesn't belong in a pretty theater. we jokingly talked about it going into the Nederlander because that would have been funny, but his response was that it's too pretty now. it would have fit perfectly in the "Rent" Nederlander, grungy and dirty.
I was hoping that it would move into the Nederlander. I couldn't think of a better theatre for it.
A neat and pretty theater definitely would be terrible for the show, it would take away from the show's rawness.

Now that the Nederlander has been renovated and the Belasco's heading that way, I don't think there's too many "grungy" theaters left that'll be available by the spring
They have now released this for listening online, you can hear it here: http://www.spinner.com/2009/12/03/green-day-with-american-idiot-cast-21-guns-song-premiere/
Oh! I like it a lot!
With ADDAMS being such a bomb/snooze out of town, this is now the musical I am rooting for this season... IF it comes in.
I still say CATCH ME should come in and give Bway a big kick in the butt. It's fabulous. Next season they will have to compete with LOVE NEVER DIES and SPIDERMAN as well as who knows what else. Now is the time for escapist fun with a knock 'em dead score like CATCH ME. We really, REALLY need it.
P
One thing to note is that this does have Billie Joe Armstrong singing a part normally sung by John Gallegher Jr., Matt Caplan, and Michael Esper. He doesn't actually perform in the show at all
I really like the orchestrations. Rebecca Jones sounds great. Having been listening to Green Day since the pre-Dookie days, I've really looking forward to seeing this show when it transfers.
I think a pretty, pristine theatre would make it even better. you know, incorporate some not so subtle irony into it.
I'd dig it as I think a lot of people would.
Love the song. Can't wait to buy it officially at the end of the month!
The first time I heard that song was during the AMA's and liked it a lot then.
This...I friggin' love! I'm on board.
It's rare that you can say this about Green Day songs, but its very very pretty. I love the harmonies.
I deplore jukebox musicals but this I'm actually looking forward to. Hope it transfers. Love the new single.
