Anyways, all jokes aside I'm curious as well. I haven't heard that he doesn't necessarilly stage door but I also haven't seen people post pictures with him on Instagram. I only see like playbill pictures over there.
When I was there everyone but Benjammin and Alice came out, Alice uses a different door and Benjammin always has his van out in front of the lobby and he quickly exits through the lobby door and runs to his car.

Thanks for sharing. Wonder why he refuses to stage door... Perhaps it makes him uncomfortable?

Possibly the combination of the grueling show that he performs mostly in his underwear for the second act, as well as the fact that he is becoming a film star and it might be more daunting. There were clearly ebay people there after I saw the show with Abe Lincoln stuff to sign.
It's odd that Ripley didn't come out either. I mean she used to come out after N2N and spend a ton of time with fans after that show. Not sure why she is skipping out here.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello

She always skipped the stage door when she was on tour with Next to Normal, so it doesn't surprise me that she might not want to do it anymore.

I hope this isn't the case. I'd never even heard of him until this show started (and I was in NYC being a theater dork last month). If I can stage door and chat with Hugh Jackman and Bradley Cooper.....and have Bradley Cooper take a selfie.......I hope Ben understands fame. Build a fan base. Chat. Be cool. I will support anything Hugh and Bradley do for the rest of my life. I really hope Benjamin Walker doesn't think he is that big of a star. Build your fan base. NYC helps huge!
While I understand what you're saying and certainly agree, I wouldn't make any assumptions neccessarily guys as to why he doesn't stage door. While I'm sure the eBay guys were there, they will show up anywhere at any show (even if it's just a show with no names) just to put a playbill with some signatures on there (and that Vampire Hunter movie he did from like FOUR years ago was a fairly big flop). But anyways, while he's on the rise, it may not be because he is getting fame to his head. It could be because he's tired like the poster above said. I remember seeing pictures of him with fans on Instagram after the first few previews, but he probably realized it would be too daunting of a show for him to be able to do both the show and stage dooring every night. Again, I'm not completely sure either, but I would absolutely keep open the fact it is probably a combination of things.

Yes merchandise is available, I got a really cool magnet set for $15 with multiple magnets, also with every purchase you can take a "Patrick Bateman business card" with the shows logo on the back

Yeah, I've long stopped being a fan of anyone who won't sign my programs, take a selfie with me, and talk for 5-10 minutes after a show.
All I can remember from a couple of weeks ago was a clear rain jacket with the logo they were selling in the line outside the theatre because it was raining, but I'm pretty sure they had other stuff. I'm going again tomorrow and can see what else they have.
No actor or actress is ever obligated to talk to anyone after the show. Not ever. He did his job on stage, which is what you paid for. He doesn't stage door. Accept, and move on.
Maybe he had a bad stage door incident at a past show. Story goes Paul Newman stopped signing autographs because some clown asked him for an autograph while he was at a urinal taking a pee.
Someone on BWW posted that at the stage door of If/Then some middle aged male moron threw a Frozen doll at Menzel and screamed for her to sign it. You could have some crazed stalker in the crowd looking for him. He owes you a performance. He delivered , pardon the pun, a killer one. Leave him alone. What will you do with it - stare at it for the rest of your life?
