Maybe he had a bad stage door incident at a past show. Story goes Paul Newman stopped signing autographs because some clown asked him for an autograph while he was at a urinal taking a pee.
Someone on BWW posted that at the stage door of If/Then some middle aged male moron threw a Frozen doll at Menzel and screamed for her to sign it. You could have some crazed stalker in the crowd looking for him. He owes you a performance. He delivered , pardon the pun, a killer one. Leave him alone. What will you do with it - stare at it for the rest of your life?

If I can stage door and chat with Hugh Jackman and Bradley Cooper.....and have Bradley Cooper take a selfie.......I hope Ben understands fame. Build a fan base. Chat. Be cool. I will support anything Hugh and Bradley do for the rest of my life. I really hope Benjamin Walker doesn't think he is that big of a star. Build your fan base. NYC helps huge!"
Maybe the fan base he wants to build is the kind that enjoys and appreciates his work by... well, going to the shows and seeing the movies he's in, and not the kind that feels entitled to an outdoors continuation of the curtain call.

Saturday night he spent about 15 minutes signing, chatting, and doing the selfies ..... he seemed most gracious .......especially considering that he was coming off a two-performance day.

If he signed both Saturday night and Sunday night, it may have been that he just didn't come out during previews. Now that the show is officially set, he may just have the free time afterwards to attend to the fans that he simply didn't have for the past month. No big deal either way (in terms of whether he stage doors or not).
I never expected this topic to even be discussed. I think my comment about Hugh and Bradley was just taken to an extreme I never expected. I do have to say, those were really nice experiences. If Mr American Psycho himself, Benjamin Walker, does or doesn't come out the stage door.......it's all good. It was never an attack on him. Oh yeah.....and he did come out and sign (at least on last Sat).
I don't mean to be mean....but you were kind of an ass hole about my statement. I don't ever try to attack or be mean or just simply be rude. It was obviously an opinion or statement. SO take that! Ha. Never ever fear being a solo.

gfaustswa, I agree with you. Not sure why some people believe they have the only opinion. Don't let it get you down.
No big deal either way, but just wanted to point out that it looks like he came out again last night so maybe now that the show is frozen and he doesn't have to worry about scheduling things too much, he's decided to come out more.
I'm not sure where the comments went! Alice did not come out and sign the night I was there. For those who thought my previous comments were nuts, I'm sorry. Never my intention to be rude or a crazy ass stage door person, however, I certainly understand how that was implied. I think my final response to this post is this.....American Psycho was great! Go see it! I loved it. And if Ben does come out to sign, great! If not, not biggie. You'll have a great night of theatre on Broadway!
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
