I got fliers in the mail today for An American in Paris and Dr Zhivago.
It's so hard to tell one show from the other!
Does anyone really care about either one?
Does anyone know what shows are taking the Palace and Broadway in the Fall cause there's no way eith one of these is gonna last !

Yes, because nothing screams the Russian Revolution like AN AMERICAN IN PARIS.
...and of course every time I think of DOCTOR ZHIVAGO I wind up humming "S'Wonderful"...

No interest for American -- can't even tell you why! I have some interest in Zhivago, but it's not on the top of my list.
My two big musical hopes for the spring are: Fun Home and Something Rotten.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

ZHIVAGO has been in workshop and such forever, it feels like disaster. With the exception of Lucy Simon (I'm a big fan of SECRET GARDEN), the cast and creatives do not excite me.

I think the Dr. Zhivago song sounds a lot like Ms Saigon. Yawn. Most epic books make
for bad musicals: Exodus, Gone with the Wind, Shogun the Musical.`
The exception of course is Les Miz. I saw Dr. Zhivago, the movie as a kid and I remember being terminally bored. This song does nothing for me.
Now I haven't seen it so I could be wrong but I bet I'm not.
