Before anyone starts yelling at me for whatever reason, my friend and I decided Andrea McArdle would be an amazing replacement for Ripley in Next to Normal. Perfect age, perfect voice. It is such a shame Andrea hasn't originated something in so long but I figured this would be the next best thing, yeah? Her voice is just magnificent.
(It seems I have been "ripped.")

I think she'd be fabulous...
But, I really think Marla Schaffel would be amazing! I'd love to see what she would do in the role.
Or, Alice Ripley could just do it forever. That would make me happy too!

Who is Aundrea? I think Andrea is a better fit.

Posted: 6/2/09 at 10:38pmI think Andrea doesn't have enough of a Rock voice. I might get eaten for saying this, but I would actually like to see Daphne Rubin-Vega play this role. She is always surprising us with her acting, and she has a REAL rock voice... Raw, natural, rock... which would really give the score a boost.

Posted: 6/2/09 at 10:44pmI was thinking the same thing about Andrea's voice, but a big no for Daphne! I can't stand her voice. I'd love to see Sherie Rene Scott come back to the role. I think she sounds great on the workshops.

Julia or Carolee would be great! I wouldn't mind seeing Andrea either. I'd love to see anyone else's take on the role. Not that I think Alice is not good (she's wonderful!), I'm just excited to see how other people would interpret the role.

I think Andrea McArdle might be good if she can handle the acting part of it.
I love the idea of Daphne Rubin-Vega in the show, she can rock it like no one else and she is actually a great actress particularly because she can do plays as well as musicals.
