Anne Hathaway - Broadway Next Season?

A friend in the business has told me that she's in talks for a Broadway-revival for next season... Any guesses? 

Didn't she sing Sally Bowles at some point? I don't think that's it though, as he said it wasn't currently running.

What broadway revival has Anne Hathaway not been rumored as being attached to in the past 20 years?

Actors are "in talks" for things all the time.

She probably turns down at least one Broadway show every month.

It should be viewed as completely meaningless until the agent and the producer shake hands –– and then it's only half-real until a contract is signed and production is announced.

Same with rumors of "producers really want X to play this part." (Such as the phrasing by our sweaty friend of Austin Butler and CAROUSEL)

She might be a bit young, but she’d be a great Desiree in Night Music

The rumored musical revivals for next year are Chess, Ragtime,  and Fiddler. I don't see her in these, so maybe it's a play? If course some other musical could be revived or she could go into Cabaret or Chicago but I don't see her replacing.

Maybe it’s the Jamie Lloyd production of Much Ado About Nothing with Tom Hiddleston.

Interestingly recently I was thinking about who I’d liked to see in a Ragtime movie and I thought of Anne for Mother. I don’t think she could do it live tho

I truly don’t understand why Anne Hathaway never done a Broadway show. I’m sure she has gotten tons of offers over the years. As a former theater kid, isn’t that her dream? Maybe she’s holding out for when it’s time to revive Kimberly Akimbo.

The rumor was she would have starred in the last revival of Company, if not for her pregnancy.

I listened to a interview with Debbie Gravitte-Shapiro who did Carnival! at Encores with Anne Hathaway right before she became famous in 2002, she said that production was going to Broadway but her agents turned it down and wanted her to focus on a film career. So I imagine it's not her not wanting to but her agents rejecting offers because they don' see the value in her doing theatre :'(
