The falling lightbulb refers to Wednesday night's performance, when two light bulbs crashed to the stage at the top of Act 2. Patti apparently (in character) went and got a broom and swept up while the scene continued.
But yeah.....what is going on? Is this the ghost of Ethel at work??

I guess this is Merman's way of letting them know -- its time to give GYPSY a rest.
NO MORE REVIVALS OF GYPSY!
And so the GYPSY curse started at the St. James Theatre in March 2008.

I was there last night...it was something else. I'm a bit shocked that there have been so many technical mishaps. The scenery doesn't seem that complex.
