CJR! That other thread made me think of this...
The casting of Deidre Goodwin as Sheila in ACL was an interesting read back in the day. Couldn't find it to dig it up again.

Agreed. Some of the old timers .. Sammy?

It was interesting to watch the documentary on the casting process because I thought both Goodwin and whomever the original frontrunner was (sorry I can't recall her name) were wrong for the role, though probably Goodwin was the better choice of the two. Sheila's supposed to come from a moneyed background, but both actresses read as street-wise and working class. I think Goodwin had the edge on a patrician quality, so was the choice to go with, but it wasn't that much of an edge. Really wasn't crazy about that revival's casting all the way around, though.

Interesting is a way to put it. It sure would never be a thread nowadays.

I have kept up with Sueleen thru FB as well. But we have never really revealed our BWW identities. So it is all just a educated guess.
