That explains why you liked the Evita tour so much.
( I am just teasing). I am also looking forward to this. has anyone read jamess kirkwoods book about the first time this was on tour with Channing and Martin? It is wonderful.

Posted: 4/27/06 at 2:19pmI think the show LEGENDS is cursed. I bet there will be all kinds of drama involved with this new staging and it won't brave NYC, just like the first production.

Hattie Winston is also in it as Aretha.
I remember seeing the EPA notice for the supporting roles/understudies only a few weeks ago.
Maybe Linda and Joan will mention something about it in Tuesday's Dynasty reunion. They have already taped some promos for Legends that have appeared on ET:
(The ladies approach one another in their red Nolan Miller gowns.)
Linda: Darrrling!
Joan: DAHHHling!
Joan & Linda: I thought you were dead.

The show is a great time. I saw it in Toronto. I think that was the first stop. It might have gotten tighter. It isn't high drama, but it is an awfully good time. I had a blast. Maybe Charlotte Rae can have a walk-on.

Posted: 4/28/07 at 2:34amSaw it here in Toronto where it was rightfully trashed by all of our critics. Like the show within the show, the only reason it ever got to the stage was because of the stunt casting.

Several reviews of the tour have said it's the worst show that critic has ever seen. And large portions of the audience are leaving at intermission. No way it's ever going to make it to New York.
Although, the maid has gotten great reviews.

Posted: 4/28/07 at 1:08pmA review is just an opinion. So I will go with an open mind. We'll see, I think Kirkwood is very talented. If the script is half as good as the one from A Chorus Line, I will enjoy it.

Saw this train wreck the first time around with Channing and Martin. One felt so badly that actresses of this calibre would be part of a production so uniformly awful.
Recently, the Evans/Collins version of "Legends" came through Los Angeles, and now one has the same stinky play with actresses whose acting skills are, um, somewhat more limited that their predecessors. The head usher told us that this production had more people never return from Intermission than any show in her sixteen years of being an usher.
And "Legends" is, in almost every way, DREADFUL! It would actually be great fun to see the show open in New York, if only to see the "Times" review. Not to mention John Simon's.
This one ranks right up there with "Moose Murders".

i saw it in Boston hoping for a campy romp and ended up just feeling like everything was phoned in. i could hear telephones a million miles away ringing and then someone on the other end of the line extremely loud. it's just pathetic.
not to mention that Linda Evans and Joan Collins can't act!
