Please post any ideas you have on it! Have a Monday night Slot open on my trip there in June. Love the main cast, and keep thinking Tuc should really be my next Husband!! LOL
Sure are spending alot of $$$$ on internet advertising on various Sites!
I'll be seeing the show on may 7th. I am really looking forward to it.
Thought it was absolutely dreadful.
The writing is horrible, Tuc Watkins, who I know just stepped in recently, was still very awkward. The part of Mrs. White just does not suit Ms. Buckley at all. It's not her fault, just a case of bad casting. Christy Carlson Romano (SP?) was pretty good.
Overall, I'd give it a 2 out of 10.
Save your money and go see something else.
How Sad!! Really have high hopes for this---love all the cast members. Does Peter Scolari have much to do in it?
Maybe they will be able to pull it together by opening!!!
I'm going in a few days and am really excited to see Betty!
*Side note- Does anyone think she'll be offended if I ask her to sign my CARRIE poster?
She graciously signed my CARRIE Souvenir Program a few years ago, so I'm sure she would sign the poster.
WithoutATrace, when are you seeing the show?
I saw WHITE'S LIES on Monday, April 12, but I'm planning on seeing it at least two more times. I truly love Betty Buckley so much, and she is wonderful in this show.
Glad you liked the show. I knew you would.
Was anyone able to meet her after the show? Where does the cast exit from?

Does anyone know if Betty Buckley is in this weekend? On the 15th she tweeted she was leaving for LA for a concert with Seth Rudetsky.

I believe she's out through the 18th.

Thanks Pianist, just my luck, I got tickets for this weekend. I really would have loved to see her, guess if it is worth a return visit I will go back.

I saw the show Saturday night.
Had I known that all the advertisements, etc. that stated "Starring Betty Buckley for the First 8 Weeks Only" really meant "Starring Betty Buckley for the First 8 Weeks Only Except for the First Weekend" I never would have seen it.
I don't Tweet so, until a few minutes ago, I didn't know that Ms Buckley had tweeted about her absence. However, since it was a previous engagement that she had booked prior to being cast in this show (which is what three of the cast memebers told me) the producers and anyone else involved in the press releases, etc. should have mentioned that she would not be in this weekend.
It would have saved me some money and aggrivation.
(I also love how there is no contact info on the White's Lies website whatsoever for me to send my disappointment to.)
If you had gone to the box office before the show, they most likely would have exchanged your tickets for another date. The theatre website is here with the contact information. http://newworldstages.com/contact.html

Where does the cast exit from as I am hoping to meet them after i see it. Thanks
The title of the show is WHITE'S LIES, not WHITE LIES. And I agree with the poster who said it's dreadful. Even Betty Buckley doesn't make it worth the price of a ticket (luckily I didn't pay to see it).
Seeing it today. Too bad about Buckley but if we enjoyed Victor Victoria without Julie Andrews we can go into this with an open mind.

I only found out, once I had taken my seat, and a tiny 1" x 2" piece of paper fell out of the Playbill. At that point, I was just frustrated with the way it was handled.
Yes, I know the theater website had contact info. I just found it strange that there was no contact info on the show's site. Most shows have contact info that goes to the producer's or others that have something to do with the show itself.
I can't really blame the theatre, for the show's decision to keep this hush hush. I did email the theatre however, asking them to forward my email to the appropriate person. I'm sure they won't.

The cast can exit from almost anywhere.
On Saturday night, we waited by the top of the stairs (at the bottom of which are the stage doors).
Tuc ended up coming out of stage 4 itself. We never were able to catch up with him. Rena seemingly appeared out of nowhere, on the escalator at the front of the building. Two of the other cast members did use the actual stairs by the stage door. We never saw Christy Carlson Romano leave at all.

Although her name may be above the title, Betty Buckley is not the star of the show, as far as roles go. The enjoyment or not of this play doesn't depend upon her.

While betty Buckley is not the "star of the show" as far as roles go, to think that that her name doesn't have an impact on some ticket sales would be wrong.
If that was the case, no shows would ever announce who were starring in their shows, as it wouldn't matter.
However, it does.
My problem is not with anything other than the fact the the producers, promoters, or anyone else associated with the show (with the exception of Ms Buckley herself) made no attempt to let fans know that Ms Buckley would not be in for certain dates, due to her having previous engagements.
When Catherine Zeta Jones took a week off, it was advertised on Playbill, BroadwayWorld, and numerous other site. I am sure her vacation impacted some ticket sales that week. The same can be said for other shows, where advertised stars, take some time off.
Why wasn't it mentioned for this one? That is my complaint.

Since you quoted me, I'll reply to you. I was replying to Mr. Roxy who compared seeing White's Lies without Buckley to seeing Victor/Victoria without Julie Andrews.
I wasn't addressing any ticket sales issue.
To clarify this, I even included his post in mine.
