if so when?
Yes. If the Broadway production of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is lucky enough to continue running, the current cast will eventually be replaced. This is the reality of Broadway.
No one knows yet when the current original Broadway cast will start leaving the show, but it will be happening when their contracts run-up which generally is about 1 year after Opening Night. Since Megan Mullally, Roger Bart and Andrea Martin are the top billed names, I would expect them to leave the show first.
Hope this helped.
Yes i know they will eventually be replaced but I heard that Megan is leaving the show in March or April and I was wondering when Roger Bart was leaveing because, I love the Show and am dying to see the original cast as many more times as i can before someone leaves
Sutton Foster is leaving the show in July to do SHREK.
really? has it been confermed that she is doing shrek? if so that is awesome cause I'll be seeing the show in Seattle, but Young Frankenstein is amazing. thank you for the info about Sutton, anyone have any other info about any of the other cast members??
It hasn't been confirmed, but it is highly rumored.
Speaking of Ms. Foster, how's her ankle?

Why would Mulally leave before the Tony nominations are even announced?
Don't bank on anyone leaving the cast, no need to fret over nothing. Right now, everyone's slated to stick 'til October.
Megan is rumorly going to be replaced by Molly Shannon. thats the talk around the Hilton. and I just found out that Roger will leave between March-July
Sutton's ankle is doing a bit better but she is reportedly still staying off it.

Please don't start rumors, especially ones as daft as what you've posted.
Not to be disrespectful or anything of the sort, but seriously kylestefanie, I don't see any of that happening (at all). WHy in the world would Roger leave before the TONY nominations, and ... MOLLY SHANNON? Hiiiighly unlikely.
I just know what the staff at the hilton theatre have told me.
I thought that same thing about Molly Shannon, I was just wondering if anyone else had heard that because thats the info thats around the theatre.

Making up rumors doesn't get you anywhere, dear.
Pretty sure KyleStephanie just said twice that she'd heard that around the Hilton, so I don't think she's making stuff up for kicks..
I hope they get Bryan D'Arcy James to replace Bart, or if they want to go for bigger names then definitely some of the other people that were first mentioned prior to the Seattle try-out.
Jane Krakowski would make a fabulous Elizabeth, though it'd be ideal watching Chenoweth in the role that was written for her, she should play it in the summer during her PUSHING DAISIES hiatus.

Who's the staff at the Hilton that you're talking to? The cleaning lady?
Information from theatre staff isn't always accurate. I've had bad info about cast changes at other shows from people who work at them.
i_heart_roger_bart, I happen to be a part of that staff, so I think I'd know the "talk around the theatre". Not once have I ever heard the name Molly Shannon even spoken inside the theatre, so it's curious as to where she's getting this information. We're not even talking about replacements because it's nowhere near time to do that. The show's only been up for not even four months!
I'm glad you guys love YF, but even if we had that type of info, we're not allowed to just share it with people.
Ok well, I was just wondering.
I heard the info from some of the ushers when I went to the show 8 times in a week.
so if its wrong im sorry. I was just saying that was what I WAS TOLD by people at that theatre.
I was just wondering if others had heard that too.
I'm sure no one would leave before the nominations but with a "name" it's always possible. I remember the original "Into the Woods". Bernadette Peters was the biggest name. The role of the Witch was written for her. The show opened sometime in late November and she was gone by the middle of April. (to film the TV movie "David" She was rumored to return after the filming but never did). I remember because I had tickets the week after she left. People will always remember this role of hers the most but forget that she only played it for 5 months or so. But usually they wait for after the Tonys and then a lot of people start leaving.
In response to LI Larry and everyone in general: Was it really ever confirmed why Bernadette left? I've heard a few different things, so I'm not sure which one is true.
The role of the Witch was written for her.
- It was? Wasn't she just a last minute replacement to open the role on Broadway?
I don't think the role of the Witch was written FOR anyone. I think in the workshop Betty Buckley was palying the Witch, but after the workshop Phylicia Rashad was the one who was to take it to Broadway. I could be wrong though.
The role of the Witch was never written for Peters, "Boom, Crunch" turned into "Last Midnight" after she was cast because Sondheim knew her strengths and whatnot but that's about it. She only played the role as a favor to Sondheim and Lapine, opened the show until someone else could take over, and agreed that her name should not be considered for Tony nomination purposes. So it's not like she was snubbed by the committee. She did leave the show to do a movie.
Buckley was indeed the one who workshopped the role, but she was not asked back to do the original production. I believe the reason Peters took over was because they needed to start rehearsals and the Witch had yet to be cast.
Anyways, back to YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN replacement discussions.
