What saddens me about that article is the mention that James Spader is taking over for Kathy Bates next season in The Office. I loved whenever she showed up at Dunder-Mifflin.

So ridiculously happy for KO! I love this show and I can't wait to see her on it! Getting to see KO EVERY week?!?! Amazing-ness!

Though sad that I won't be able to see her in NYC anymore...

But still SUPER HAPPY for her!

forgive me if I'm wrong, but it's Karen Olivo playing the gym teacher in "Carrie" with Mazzie and Ranson?

I heard her singing "Unsuspecting Hearts" in Pearl Studios several weeks ago and confirmed it was her when I looked at the posted rehearsal calls.

Keep her off Broadway and on TV. She obviously doesn't have the stomach for 8 shows a week and has said as much in one snide interview after another.

ljay889, MCC just did a developmental lab of the show (their equivalent of a workshop) from May 25th through June 7th.

Olivo played Miss Gardner in it, which is why inlovewithjerryherman must have heard her rehearsing.

MCC is also doing a sort of preview concert at the Lortel on August 1, so they could have been rehearsing that as well (though with this TV role I doubt she'd be available for the full production).

Yes, I was being very sarcastic. Many of us on here know that she won the Tony for West Side Story in 2009. But what I was laughing at was the person who wrote this article mentioned it was for "a" production. Which means it could have been "any" production---why didn't they just say, "Olivo, won the Tony for the 2009 Revival of West Side Story"--get it? So yeah, it was sarcastic. Oh, and did she win for only one "performance?". LOL
