any inside info? Cause that's what I'm really after.
As of Tuesday they were still accepting submissions via mail.
Laura Benanti & Gavin Creel
wishful thinking?
I would want to see Ashley Brown as Hope
Gavin Creel is my dream choice as well.
I hear they are going young(er),
Michael Arden and Sierra Boggess type young.
Laura Benanti & Gavin Creel
wishful thinking?
In the case of Benanti, not only wishful thinking, but impossible, given that she's in Women on the Verge of a Nervouse Breakdown.

"I hear they are going young(er),

Michael Arden and Sierra Boggess were both born in 1982. That's hardly what I would call "going young" for either of these roles.
Although it won't happen, I believe if Benanti went directly from closing WOMEN ON THE VERGE into ANYTHING GOES rehearsal's she could do it, if we're talking a 5-6 weeks rehearsal process.
But, this isn't going to happen anyways.
Michael Arden and Chelsea Morgan Stock. Just a thought if they want actors who are younger looking.
Isn't Reno supposed to be older than Billy? Maybe it's just the way I've always seen it cast.

^Yes. I'm pretty sure it's at least inferred somewhere in the scipt.

Aretha Kitt as Hope. Please!!!!!!
Here would be my idea of a pretty talented cast:
Reno- Sutton Foster
Billy- Harry Connick Jr.
Hope- Laura Osnes
Evelyn- Malcolm Gets
Moonface- Joel Grey
Mrs Harcourt- Debra Monk
Bonnie- Megan Sikora
Mr. Whitney- Johnathan Hadary
Ok, so what do you think? Would love to hear more suggestions...
Reno-Sutton Foster
Billy-Michael Arden
Hope-Chelsea Morgan Stock
Evelyn-Malcolm Gets
Moonface-Joel Grey
Bonnie/Erma-Mary Birdsong
Mrs. Harcourt-Jayne Houdyshell
Elisha J. Whitney-Johnathan Hadary
None of these (Michael Arden perhaps being the exception) come across as being young enough to play against Sutton's Reno. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Billy supposed to be mid 20s?
You have a point there singtopher
Whether or not he's too old, I'd be willing to bet any amount of money that Roundabout tried to get Harry Connick Jr. for Billy. He's everything Billy should be- attractive, charismatic, and a real crooner. Who wouldn't want to hear his voice singing these Cole Porter standards? Plus he'll turn this production into a sell out hit, like he did Pajama Game.
Jayne Houdyshell as Evangaline seems inevitable (and REALLY obvious), and I fear she'd just play Mae Peterson again.
Laura Osnes is unfortunately going to be busy with that Wildhorn show, Bonnie and Clyde.

I'd love to see Sutton and Gavin together again, but I'd rather it be in a show that they were both suitable for instead of being miscast.
Howard Mcgillin, who was a terrific Billy in the last revival, certainly wasnt in his 20's, opposite Patti Lupone.....
