Ummmm.... Where did you get your spring awakening tickets? Because it closes in January so they're not legit.
View from the Bridge and King Charles III are also both limited runs that will be closed by then. Shuffle Along will be open. (Both shuffle along and King Charles are at the music box)
For my April trip I'm seeing shuffle along and she loves me. I'm also keeping an eye out for the word of mouth on American psycho and Tuck Everlasting this spring.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I'm going in April too. Right now I have tickets to Hamilton and Streetcar off Broadway. Looking to also get tickets to Waitress, She Loves Me, Shuffle Along, The Colour Purple, and maybe Allegiance
So I leave tomorrow and am so excited! 7 shows in 5 days. The only change is I'm now seeing She Loves Me instead of Shuffle Along. I'll be sure to report back (not that anyone really cares about my opinion it's still fun to give it! :) )
Just got back from my annual trip. Saw 7 shows in 5 days and it was magical. I think I had a pretty good lineup and don't regret any of my choices. Each show was amazing. I've written reviews on different boards here so will sum it up in a line:
Blackbird- so intense but so good
She Loves Me- a lighthearted night of theatre with a fabulous cast
The Color Purple- holy crap...cried for days....Cynthia Erivo....need I say more
Hamilton- surreal to see the original cast. A perfect example of why I love theatre
Streetcar Named Desire- It was good, I'm glad I saw it but I wouldn't rush back
Waitress- Jessie Mueller is becoming a legend. A beautiful show with a great score
Dear Evan Hansen- OMG so beautiful and sad at the same time. Be prepared to cry (if you can get a ticket!)
Overall it was a great 5 days. I met some really interesting people at the various stage doors and cried, laughed, and was in awe of the amazing talent at each show.
This week reaffirmed why I love live theatre and I'm already planning next years trip! Until then I will have to live vicariously through all of you!
Sounds like you had a great trip! Thanks for sharing your impressions. I haven't seen Streetcar yet, and I'm on the fence. I just bought myself tickets to see Dear Evan Hansen again. Glad you liked it!
